apparently not.
He's an 'original' burner, which means he was at the evening beach burn on Baker beach in 86.

Incorrect, I met him at one of the Dioxine List cocktail parties in the Blue LIght District, which I think predated my eplaya sign up. He was indeed a dust burner.

Re: DVD Burner appreciation thread
actually bless, DVD was one of the original burners at baker beach, and he has made it to the dust many times, and he is quite real.

No, I was just curious. It's interesting to read about the first eplayans and to see how the board and its content have evolved over the years.

The first eplayans were before this iteration of the board started. The earliest stuff here has them being disgruntled and then they move off to other things.

This iteration began in 2003? What was before it, tribe.net or something else?theCryptofishist wrote:The first eplayans were before this iteration of the board started. The earliest stuff here has them being disgruntled and then they move off to other things.

It was eplaya, but all those posts disappeared when they made the shift to bbs code.

Re: DVD Burner appreciation thread
Yup, in 2003 this was the New ePlaya, and the old ePlayan's were not happy about the change. I should dig up a couple of threads from back then just to link to them when people talk about the current roster of posters being "mean", "snarky", or "elitist". That group put us to shame in those categories - but, damn, there were also some mighty good people back then. Luckily there's an even better group now - way more helpful with answers, nicer to (most of) the newbies, and friends off ePlaya as well. I much prefer what we've grown into.

Re: DVD Burner appreciation thread
When I did my first theme camp install at LA Decom in 2008, I reached out on here for local folk to lend a hand and DVD Burner is the only one who connected with me. He followed thru and was a tremendous help to us for the entire event. Great guy and good friend. Yep... he exists.
A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

he seemed "excitable" though....I liked him, but he was at times so damned rude, well to me anyway. But also entertaining.bigbluedoggy wrote:When I did my first theme camp install at LA Decom in 2008, I reached out on here for local folk to lend a hand and DVD Burner is the only one who connected with me. I started off on the Dioxine List, which was just an email digest for me. I do remember the old eplaya, but did not use it very much, it was neither easy nor elegant. Egoville. Yeah, we are marshmallow fluff and butterfly poots compared to that thorn patch. Even Page Two is a delightful little slice of paradise pie.
