We've dealt with tornadic winds all fucking week. I spent 3 miserable hours in the hall at work when we had three simultaneous Doppler signatures that were converging on Jefferson City. The same day, a tornado touched down and injured 15 in Sedalia...same system.
Some of those first responders are from Missouri Task Force One. Those guys are heroes. They responded to the World Trade Center AND Katrina, as well as dozens of other disasters nationwide. I'm honored to know some of them.
If we ever meet, first tequila shot is on me.

I recommend the pepperblaster too.
Tazers are potentially lethal and need a higher level of risk to justify.
Some clothing is difficult to penetrate with tazers and there is the range issue too, unless you have the airtazer.
They now make clothing to defeat tazers too.
Of course, I think you should carry a couple of guns to round out self defense.
