Helga and I were scheduled to work a big fireworks show on an island in front of St. Helens Oregon tonight...We got an inkling yesterday of how things were going to go.

agreed meet up time 0900. we were there. start calling the local guys with the boats/transport. No response until 1100. 2 hours wasted. Head pyro shows up about 1300 (he is the only one with the layout plan for trenches and mortars) locals had set up shade and stuff on the beach 400 feet from people camping. 10" shells require 1000 feet clearance(radius of safety circle) they argue it is diameter. I get out the book and read it to them. pick up all the stuff and move it. then mega cluster fuck about sorting the tubes before vs after moving them. so about 7pm last night after 8 hours busting ass in the sun for free, the tubes are placed and we head back to the launch ramp. We state that we will be there at 0800 today.

0800 this morning we call boat driver and tell him we are 5 minutes away. 0835 call again...voice mail. 0840 call another pyro on island, yes they know we are there and will send boat. after day before clusterFUCK, I tell them we will wait until 0900...no boat, no call. 0910 we pack up and leave. halfway home, 1010 we get a call from head pyro. Did you get picked up? A bunch of us are at biscuit burners for breakfast.........." (I had asked specifically about this because we did that last year. [different head pyro] Was told NO, we are not doing that!)

"No we are just about home" After waiting 2+ hours yesterday, and over an hour today, and then you call an hour later, that shows how fucked the organization is. Don't get hurt out there. Bye"

Aloe gell with lidocaine works good. Use a cool wet wash cloth too! I remember the first time I sunbathed nuse. My poor boobies and butt were so red and sunburned, not to mention my twinkie. I sat in a cold tub every day for almost a week. Now I make sure to slather on the SPF liberally.

End of life was at the hot end of a cutting torch, cutting the barrel in half. The gov't sells the cut up pieces as scrap and does this to prevent reweaponization. Hah! The projectiles are cut from their cartridges for the same reason. Hah Hah!
They obviously didn't think this one out...
I chucked up the barrel in the lathe and threaded it. Bored and threaded a breech cap. Reweaponization complete.
The blast is the loudest thing I've heard short of a howitzer.
It blows thru a 10 inch fir tree without sneezing.
The projectile endcaps unscrew to allow special payload additions.
