Mmm, coffee with stuff in it....

Snow here too, breaking branches on the neighbor's maple, but ours is hanging tough. Should melt off fast, sunny already.

I'm tense, MyLarry is still on the wrong side of the Sierra Nevadas.

Appreciat eit, but honestly, he's at a truckstop and is okay. He'd only be stuck waiting for a load, in which case he has to stay with the truck. I'm more worried about that flight to Cancun this weekend.... first world problem.

Company decided to deadhead them home (there's two trucks running together). He should make Wendover tonight. I told him to play "Truckin'" but he didn't get it.

Sorry to have been absent so much lately but I've been having a problem with double vision. Finally made time to see a neuro-ophthalmologist yesterday, and he said, guess what? "Try new eyeglasses, and get them from this really expensive place" and, "If they don't help you can try these even more expensive glasses!"

Aye yi yi. And no, my health insurance does not cover "eye wear."

Seems clear that this Bar is the only one I will be drinking at.

how about you get a prescription for your glasses, then buy them online really really cheap (or post it over here i can probably get them fairly cheap)

Sucks about the glasses, my insurance doesn't cover vision (except exams) either.

I'm supposed to have special bifocals, my planes of vision are too different, and a regular prescription gives me double vision if I try to read through them. It takes ten days to make them even from the most expensive one hour place and they get them wrong most of the time anyway. $500 or more plus frames. I found it cheaper to go with two different pairs, one for far vision, one for reading. As it is, the Lenscrafter guy jiggered my old and new prescriptions to get something I can see through, what the doc prescribed doesn't work well at all. I don't wear my glasses at Burning Man, one reason I don't do well with faces. You're all in soft focus for me in person.

I'm wondering about my morning caffeine... first thing at work has been a contentious time this week, and I need to be calm, but I want to be alert. Pounds mindful cup from ecm. Shit, mdf, bite the bullet, I guess...get the best first time perhaps to avoid a step that doesn't work? I don't know.

I'm on Tricare, plus a separate dental insurance (retired Navy). Tricare rocks except for vision; I'd be dead without such good coverage. Dental is much more expensive and provides far less service. I suppose they think it is alright for my vision to be spotty as long as I'm breathing.

wow, MDF........that's a bummer. and going with your bar thought, it might be that since drinking can often make a person see double, perhaps, the correct combination of liquor, and eye crossing sex, could straighten you out?
I'd say it's worth experimentation.
Maybe some double blind/bound, experiments?

yes I too have a vision issue AMD
and dont wear glasses at BRC
and spend as much as it takes for eyewear
but it isnt enough any way
so drink and feel your way through the moment
