Good morning! It's going to be a hot one again, I guess it's just good preparation.
It's going to be alright.

hi Sput!
Is it unusually hot there this year?
We've been having the coolest summer I can remember, in all my many years.

They say it rained on the playa the other day.

It's been hot a lot. Not sure how it rates in the overall scheme of things, but daytime highs for the past month have mostly been in the 80s or higher. This after an unusually cool winter. On the plus side we've gotten rain, so its' not like we're in a drought.
It's going to be alright.

I think today here will be 98 with 88 percent humidity here. The playa will feel cooler that here. Thats what I have been told by people frm Houston who have been.

Yeah, that's what I like about it. Even when it was 110 it didn't feel bad because the humidity was so low.
It's going to be alright.

yeah everyone here is more concerned that I remember that it will be freezing cold at night. Houstonians aren't used to the cold. We get three weeks max of winter every year and the entire city shuts does if snow hits the ground.

It can be cold, but the past few years have been really balmy at night. A lot of the time I haven't even needed a coat. I'm still bringing one though because I don't want this to be the year I really need it. Two years ago on temple burn night it was very cold. A bunch of us were on an art car stuck in between a bunch more cars and couldn't move, so we had to huddle down under all the blankets and furs we could find to stay warm.
It's going to be alright.

I love those nights. When I lived in Upstate, my wife and I would cuddle close on the couch or in bed with a cup of tea. Those were the best days of my life.

Yeah, it was just like that, only we were all so damn cold and we didn't want to be there anymore but couldn't leave because the damn temple wouldn't fall. ;-)

ETA: Sounds like you had the better deal.

Aparagus. You are on a diet, as are several on eplaya, so I thought a healthier breakfast would be well placed.

And I don't eat snails by any name.

Yeah, it's been the coolest summer on record here in So Cal. I haven't had one day spike past 100 and most haven't even broken the low 80's at max. The last week has been in the 70's and evenings and nights have been comparitively cold. It's SO strange.

Anyway, at work...wishing for some of that yummy absinthe everyone seems to be bringing this year!

Image

I am with you Sput...bring the coat. Better to be prepared and not cold.
Finally moving to SF...can't WAIT!

Just a flashback. I'm from the sixties. Sugar cubes had a whole different meaning. On the serious side I guess you'd call me an Absinthe virgin. I've never tasted it. This will be the year.

actually lots of folks bring it but, don't necessarily pour it easy.......it can be terrible expensive......cheapest I've ever seen is 30 bucks for a 5th (can't remember the ML's)
