Yup. You must be starving that cold, cause it looks thinner too.
Hi, Fishy!! Yeah, I've been feeding my fever, though. I'm snuggled down all warm and toasty in the deepest part of the pants I can get to. As a matter of fact, I'm so far down, I can almost touch the sock...
*fishy left speechless by gasping for oxygen*

Tisha
I just commented in a political thread. Give me something that'll put me in a coma for a week so I don't have to deal with the fallout.

Quickly!

Wow, kids! I go in the back to take inventory and it gets nuts in here!!

Damn, Stuart...sorry to hear that, baby. I think Sandwichman's suggestion fits the bill. Ooh! And I've got a fantastic 12 yo Scotch up in the back here...let me just *stretch, reach - ungh* there! Here ya go, honey. 'tis on the house.

Geekster - that Brandy Hot Toddy is *fabulous*, here's one for Lydia, and one for Woodrow...with a straw. (touch the sock...you can even brag with a cold!)

Crypto - baby! I can relate to the fallout factor...howzabout a glass or three of that fantastic mead ya brought in for me!! I smell a theme party coming....

Rian...11 days of work with no day off?!?!?! Baby! Here's a red bull & vodka - hell, make it two.

Sam - a double soda, baby. Thanks again for the compliments (yer so damn sweet!)

And Joel - here's yer frosty brew, and damn fine idea with the vodka! It's in the freezer and shots'll be on the bar after lunch!! (that's lunch Cali time...you can have yers now if ya like!)

Buckethead and Sandwichman - what are you havin'?

Thank you. I love being able to share the music. Sometime in the near future I will actually hook up the turntables to the computer and mix a set that way.

Thank you all for your thoughts

In honor of my Grandma, who died just before her 90th

I will have what she would have had

12 ounce glass of straight vodka and a carton of pall mall filterless

Funny thing is, all I remember about her growing up was that I was constantly told she would not be with us for very long. Over three decades ago she had already had every garden variety of cancer known to man, weighed about 90lbs, smoked 3 packs a day and started her day off with the above libation. 30 years later the woman had escaped from several assisted living situations cuz they would not let her have her vices. Fiesty she was as well as a total pain in the ass.
I very much believe that longevity is an inherited trait. My mom was adopted so, unfortunately, I am not the happy recipient of those major ass kicking genes.

Wherever you are, I sure hope they let you smoke and drink to your hearts content. There will be hell to pay otherwise.
call me baby

Thanks Tisha.

Stuart, your Gramma sounds like a hell of a woman. No wonder she lived 30 years longer than she expected.

12 oz of vodka is probably better for you then 16oz of coffee.

Stuart... sounds like I'm part of that gene pool... My grandfather was the same way. Had a stroke on his 89th birthday, surrounded by his family. Headed of into the mysic mountains ten days later. He's probably still up there, hunting and fishing and hiking to his hearts content.

In honor of your grandmother, and my determined Scots grandfather... Glenmorange for my friend... and since it is virtual... one for me, too...

Okay, now you are getting me sentimental. I miss whisky and cigs too, but not with my gram ... with my brother-in-law. He was my best friend when I was living abroad. I was from the mid-atlantic and he was from Florida. We decided to go back to the US and have the ultimate summer vacation. We started at Ocean City, Maryland and went all the way down the coast hitting every beach till Satellite Beach in Fla. Man ... what a trip THAT was. My sister graduated college the weekend we were to start out and she said that instead of renting a car, we could just use hers if we took her along ... so we did! Stopped at the mall, bought a rubber chicken, stuck it on the antenna of that 72 Duster and off we went. By the time we got to Virginia Beach, my best friend and my sister were lovers. By the time we got to Jacksonville, they were engaged. In some respects I was hating life on that trip, being the third wheel ... but he and I spent many a night with a bottle of Jameson's, a couple of packs of smokes and a case of beer solving the world's problems.

Here it is about 20 years later, they are still married but they live on the East coast and I live on the West and haven't seen him for more than a day in years. I miss that jackass.

Next round is on me!

I just got the call for a 3rd interview for a great job. Lots of overtime but sweet benefits and non-salary which means all the overtime is paid.

Yeah, I'll drink to that... we may be getting the same thing over here on the river (the beautiful, grey, Willamette)... after years of running our dept with temps, they are going to change to perms.

I don't know how I'd look with a perm...
