Nobody would put up the money to get "The Life Of Brian" made because they thought it was to controversial.

George Harrison mortgaged his house to help the Pythons get it made. 8)

Hi gang.
Patsh: you can hit "quote" on GH's post, then copy the youtube address, and paste it in another tab...
Yeah, I can't watch youtube embeds any more, either. My browser wants to either open to all, or none.

Merry Christmas, Xmas, whatever, to all of you fuckos!! I too love that moniker.

Yeah, I know he likes to harvest his own food, but as long as it's fresh and uncooked, he likes the pampering, too.

Morning, Kiddies. Almost over! Unjohn, you got it right. Avaricious War Rabbit, YG. Feel better, Lucky.

Going out for the traditional Xmas Day Dim Sum in SF this morning. Place is so popular we have to get there by 10:30 AM to get in for lunch. Just as soon stay home, but going with some very dear friends. Weather here can only be described as spectacular. Mid to high 60s and bright sunshine. Worrisome that we have had the driest year maybe on record. Grandson coming back tomorrow to trim the 3 pots he made and also asked if I would give him a tennis lesson. How much better can life get!!!

Cheers

Handmade Films was basically George Harrison's production company. Five Corners, Withnail and I, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, and I think The Magic Christian were all produced by it. At least some of the money that the Beatles made was put to good use.

And thanks, Marty.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you.

Yeah... this seems to happen every year... "Merry Elliotmas!" And as the saying goes... we get too soon old and too late smart. But here we are, and lovin' it -- because the Man burns in 248 days!

Back in The Old Country they celebrate Christmas primarily on Christmas Eve, so when I was little I would fall asleep late Christmas Eve with my pile of new toys, and then wake up next morning and receive a second pile! A lot of the Stuff was from Amerika -- from my grandmother who had "fled" Norway just before I was born (smart old gal!) and settled in Anaheim, CA, just blocks from Disneyland. So the steamships hauled a lot of Disney to Norway for December 24-25!

All right, enough reminiscing. Going to dinner at friends right here in Clearlake this afternoon, so need to take a bath or something.
These folks are wonderful people, but hardly BM material. Still they usually pick my brain about BM, apparently enjoying this peek at a "more exotic" world, so I'm bringing a short film.
And a bottle of Merlot that was gifted the Bicycle Service and somehow escaped being consumed -- I found it in a parts crate after I got home. Lots of Dust on it, which I am careful not to knock off. (I hope it has not been spoiled by heat.)

Blah, blah, blah.

Happy Birthday, Elliot!!!!! Know what you mean about good folks who love to hear about Burning Man and enjoy it vicariously via the tall tales (some not so tall) we weave. Just got home from the Dim Sum feast and am really stuffed. Waited over an hour to get in, but it was the very best Dim Sum I've ever had. Good thing my good friend, who is Chinese, was with us to order and identify all that was served. For those here in the Bay Area, the place is called the Hong Kong and it is on the north side of Geary between 17th and 18th. From what I hear it is supposed to be one of the very best Chinese Restaurants in the Bay Area. Time for a snooze.

We had lamb also. With three sauces even. Boys grew up to be fine cooks, and one just married a good cook too. And they do dishes now too!!!!
a good play day. Slow but never the yawning sense of a dull day stretching out in front of us. Also we all conversed!
Ygmir that looks and sounds like a fine meal. We survived!

And I forgot... a very happy birthday to EllioT

Goodnight bvb.

Happy birthday, Elliot!!! And wow, Ygmir, looks like quite a spread. Marty, I'd heard of that place but I haven't ever been...got to change that in the year ahead.

And a merry happy whatnow to everyone else who's getting some kind of holiday on. We've been lazily enjoying the day, avoiding social media outlets and enjoying drinks and nibbles and tinkering around with art projects. Digital stuff, the girl had been mucking around with a ring design which she sent off to get 3D printed yesterday, and today mostly tinkered around with a new pirate hat design. I've been working on rendering textures lately, for a few different projects. My playa surface renders and experiments are ongoing, plus I've been going back to some cobblestone, brick, and diamond plate steel textures I've made over the years to update and refresh them. I use those materials in some 3D/virtual art that gets several thousand visitors a month, and want to be able to make them look better and a little more realistic for people. I've also been doing bunches of reading and researching about hardware and rendering technology stuff... it's all fascinating stuff to me, but a mind-numbing amount of details. Luckily, I have plenty of vodka.

Yes indeed (((Elliot))) Happy Birthday. 8)

I had the best Christmas ever, no kidding, stayed home with my Dear Husband and sons and just did whatever we wanted to do, with no real agenda; played together, cooked together, cleaned up together. Fantastic. 8) 8) 8)

THE PHONES DID NOT RING :D :D :D :D :D :D

I stayed up way too late because I did not want the day to end, but now I am at work and need some :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

ah, the hangover.....meat, pie, and sloth, hangover, didn't drink at all.

Trilo: you refer so much to all this "other world" stuff. Someday I'd love to see what you're talking about. Virtual seems such a concept these days.
And so flies in the face of the world I live in, where it seems everything is heavy, sharp, hot, or loud,... dirty (or at least not painted), "industrial", and simple.

Greetings, all!

Interesting day on Christmas Day.

Woke up at 6:30 and made breakfast. bacon, toast, eggs over easy, coffee....good start to the day. Called Mom and Dad to wish them the best....all OK there. Dad's doctor dropped him. The doc RETIRED (Even MDs do it occasionally). Dad was his last patient, and he's doing so well, that Dad actually is getting out and about to do a smidgen of yard work occasionally. He's enjoying life. I expect him to go until he's in his 90s, at least. Mom is also doing well. Both over 80. I consider myself lucky that they're both still around and having fun. I actually suggested that they come to Burningman. Rent an RV, you know? Then Mom got a funny idea (she thought I was joking at first) that they'd buy a yacht and anchor it at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville and be part of the so-called 'Vol Navy". I said, "Great, but you have to tow it behind your RV to the playa....oh, yeah, and paint on the home port of 'Lake Lahontan, Nevada'. "

Took a drive to Jefferson City to eat lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant. They really did a great job on Christmas Day with a full buffet and all authentic. They serve not only Chinese specialties, but now Vietnamese and Japanese specialties, too. I was leaving Jefferson City when my friend Marsha called....she had to go to the emergency room for a big problem - they darn near admitted her. She was worn out by the time it was over with, so I had to go to the ER and get her and her vehicle home. When we got back to her place she was wearing a shirt with 'what does the fox say?', sort of like the video....

[media]

I looked at her and then asked her,

"What does the Rhino say?"

We answered in unison, "Fuck You!"

I hadn't laughed so hard in years.

Happy New Year to all. And to all of the Chinese restauranteurs.....Gung Hei Fa Choy!
