woik. but I've been having fun! We built a display last week for in-wall and outdoor speakers bay and hacked an input to the amp for an external source... love working on that aisle now. Had fun building it with a young guy who is a speaker addict like me. hee hee.

Stumbles in for a needed cup of coffee and some of Elorrum's goodies. Morning GH and YG Time for a snuggle in the NEB. Hope LF is still there.

Will see Misa tonight before her big trip back to Prague. Good we'll still have her on the thread!

Piney, you are such a busy bee! Amazing energy! Had a nice beer at the Booby Bar during the Friday night dust storm

*Stumbles in from the shadows*

Wow, I feel like shit this morning. After sleeping for about 8 hours last night, I still feel like crap. I actually grabbed one of my leftover '5 hour energy drink' shots, but didn't take it.

I had a Dr. Pepper earlier, but it only spun me up for a minute before I was back down again. Kind of reminded me of the thinking cap from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie...

So, anything to pick me up would be helpful. Coffee doesn't do it for me, the warm liquid just makes me apathetic...

How about some Argentine yerba mate?

It's yummy and since it is full of minerals and other stress-draining nutrients, it gives a kick without the crash later.

YouTopia, the theme for this year's San Diego decompression, is being held at the La Jolla Indian Reservation. This is the same location that Elysium Midsummer Festival has been held. Per the reservation rules, all glass containers are prohibited inside of the campgrounds. They are very serious about this.

At Elysium 2009, they searched my cooler at the gate and turned me around to take care of the glass. I went to the local convenient store, purchase some gallons of water, dumped the water, and filled up with my beer. Since I knew they wouldn't last all weekend, I ended up drinking two of the gallon beer containers that night, gifting the third. Needless to say, I was a little hammered.

I was able to accidentally sneak in a bottle of JD that I had forgotten under the seat, but they frequently rove the event and can toss you for having glass.

They have become even more strict since last October, when Psy Circle held an event at the same location and completely trashed the place. The event leads have direct contact with the tribal council and this rule will definitely be enforced.

Now back to your regularly scheduled dosing...

I repurpose 1/2 liter water bottles... depending on what you put in them, they even look like Water. ;)

How about a little tea... Russian Style? (No need for the water, I'll take it str8 from the top pot!!)

Story Time #2: Friday was a fun/special day at COFFEE CAMP (CC): Had been approached earlier in the week by our Theme Camp neighbors (as we were placed right at their footprint :) ) P3 Oasis (a.k.a- P-CUBED) to make a Wedding Cake for a couple/P-Cuber's who were getting married...because CC member K.B. just happened to bring out a simple, yet glorious device...*a convection oven* being powered by a 4KW generator. The wedding was beautiful, and the cake was being prepared during the closing ceremonies. We were not rushed, alas though, this is what happened in one magical playa hour:

K.B.- Bake (not 1), but 2 13x9 in. cakes (1 Red Velvet, 1 Cherry Chip) Composite went: Cake sheet, 1 jar frosting on top/middle, 2nd Cake sheet, 2 jars frosting to cover top and all sides, sprinkles...
Me-Kabe's needed a serving/presentation tray to rest cake on, none readily available. Composite went: Took a cardboard water box, cut to size. Over wrapped it with a clean white piece of waxed posterboard, duct tape to hide edges under board. Design with neon green Frog tape & a spray paint stencil design in corners.

Needless to say, (and in perfect timing) a double-layered Wed' Cake on an artist original board...in an hour...in the middle of a desert... :D enjoy...

Hey, Gyre, I did give Misa some rootbeer... didn't get a super variety, but fallback to A&W I figured was a classic American style, and I like A&W, though it is so much nicer as a draft rootbeer.

I don't know yet how she liked it... perhaps she's being polite and not mentioning it.
