not that i'm kinetic, but i find that not being able to unsubscribe from threads (or somehow use the technology to make them less visible to me) requires me to exercise self control when presented with material i find, erm, controversial.

i'm no good at self control. i'd like to push a button to hide stuff that i know will just get me all riled up and impolite.
