Yes, but no matter how beautifully they are made up, they are medically speaking, obese. Being obese is NOT HEALTHY and my big objection to all of this is trying to justify or imply that it is. Someone made the earlier example of what smoking companies used to do--the analogy is valid here, and there are as many companies making money on the "full figured" (the latest euphemism for "fat" adopted in this era of political correctness and by marketing genius) girl, as there were off of the image of being a smoker. Doesn't make smoking or obesity any healthier because you want to believe they are. Unhealthy is unhealthy.

2. Eating poor- On a typical day I eat under 2000 cals. Some days far less. I have not lost any weight for quite a while. Even though Im on my feet 8 hours a day doing hair or hell days like today where im working 14 hours at the salon then the bar on my feet all day running around. Nothing. Today I got one meal of a ham and cheese sandwich and a diet cherry pepsi. So yeah I have no fucking Idea what is wrong there. Would love to know.

If you have been a fat person you would understand this. It is not as easy as people make it out to seem to lose weight. I mean come on. 100 pounds is huge. Heck people freak out that they need to lose 10. Trying thinking you need to shed a person. If you are a fat person you know they daily hell you live with.
Oooh, not eating can be even worse than eating! Don't forget to start with a high-protein, low-fat breakfast (for high energy). EVERY day. Then eat a snack between breakfast and lunch to keep the metabolism going. Basically, you seriously need breakfast, lunch and dinner with two snacks. One in the mornin, one in the afternoon. Obviously, I'm not talkin' Doritos. It makes a HUGE difference cutting out any soda (and ask a good sports coach, diet soda's almost worse than just regular soda but both should be cut out completely). I stated it in another thread before, but I was a kill-24-pack-of-soda-by-myself-in-three-days type of chick. That high-fructose corn syrup does a mighty nasty number on people...

Pretty easy to guess that I used to be a fat girl.

Dropped about 80 pounds. Not..quite 100 but damn close enough. My ass is all of 5'3" high. . .

No, it's not easy. But I'm not sure that it's supposed to be. Takes a while to pack in on, not gonna take it off overnight.

Either way, best of luck in getting it in a state you're more comfortable with. I weened myself off of the soda and caffeine, exercised mighty regularly and did a 180 change in my diet to lose the weight. It wasn't easy, but omg was it worth it. No diabetes for me! (which was my prognosis if I didn't get my weight under control).

I avoid most diet soda like the plague, and only have a rare cane sugar soda as a treat, or maybe a truvia sweetened soda (which aren't all that great). It isn't the sweetner, or even the high fructose in regular sodas, it is the terrible preservative. Either sodium benzoate or potassium benzoate can do a number on certain people and they will never figure it out. I preach about it constantly, so most folks here have heard this before. If you drink diet soda and have problems with fatigue, body aches and possibly congestion, then your diet soda habit is talking to you. Water, water, water is the way to go.

If this does not apply to you, then please proceed as scheduled.

I know this advice will fall on deaf ears because most people realize it's a stupid selfish use of your time. But it works for me:

Train for and run a full marathon. You will lose weight. You will live better. You will have a healthier diet. Of course, you then probably would need to have your head examined for doing such an incredibly stupid thing. But if you're goint to a therapist anyway, consider it a win-win.

Yea, I basically say "We believe in everything and anything" the 10 principals are guidelines, and we obey the law of the land.

So what if someone forgot to add "unsolicted advice" & thin skin is for the trustafarians. You're gonna need thick skin, trust me.
I'm carrying an extra 40 lbs, and plenty of us join the eplaya fitness cliub whether we are overwight or not, it's simply a health club.

Unsolicted advice...Kill your Television, I killed mine a looong time ago (why worship those assholes? maybe rent a movie once in a blue moon, lol) Too bad plumbers weren't paid roylaties for unclogging terlets, they deserve it as much 'actors' lmfao!

Melt downs on a computer? Ummm, the event is infintately more difficult, physically, mentally, emotionally, both good and bad...focus on the good. Hippy speak, 'manifest the good' this will help you on playa and eplaya.

TMI, maybe there is a simple solution to that!

It seems spooky for anyone to say (looseley quoted) "I'll remember you and I don't forget...' wtf does that mean? You gonna get revenge on someone from eplaya, eeew, you'll find (most) everyone is a kitten when you actually meet them, if you pull it off and go.

Ah well, too much drama in this thread for me...everyone means well, have patience, you'll see for yourself. IMHO, bear in mind eplaya and BM is comprised of the smartest, most creative minds in the country. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the journey TG!
I'm the MAN in a truck, burner who is stuck, you're in luck! I'll whip out my BIG tow chain and not charge you, not even one lousy buck!

Wait a minute. NO ONE SAID YOU ARE A DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING. JKisha said you were overweight and that it was unhealthy and there was no reason for it. And he posted an inflammatory picture, which still makes me want to shake him up a bit.

ALL the other stuff is in your head. YOU read all the disgusting, lazy etc. stuff into it. I think you should discuss this with your therapist.

I think you are funny. I think you are beautiful. I think you are talented. I think you are lonely. I think you definitely should keep up the shrink visits. I think you are overweight (as am I) and that being overweight makes you (and me) unhealthy. I can think you are both beautiful and overweight. They are not mutually exclusive.

There is a serious obesity problem in this country. Yes, all those women in the pictures you posted are gorgeous, but they ALL have a much greater chance of heart disease and other medical issues. You know this and no amount of screaming melt down will change that. Propensity for obesity does run in families. Genetically predispositioned or taught bad habits? Maybe a combination of the two?

I think size 4 people with double D tits probably have some serious back issues. Just an opinion.

that picture is clearly a cleverly done piece of art reflective of our society...

you see how they are feeding each other? ..this is representative of the fact that we, as society, are making each other overweight by allowing fast food places like mcdonalds to exist through our patronage. we share the blame, collectively for this problem therefore we feed eachother..

you notice how they are in bed, in a state of undress. this represents a few problems as we know them today in america, For one, our families arent eating at the table anymore, no longer do we talk about the day over a meal. Now we hide away from the family in front of a computer or a television during meal time, that is, if we even have a family to avoid. Secondly.. We are so comfortable with our food and consuming it has become so normal and a part of our lives that we bring it to what would normally be a intimate no-food situation, when youre in a state of undress..in bed.

lastly.. notice how the females have chosen to share the french fries which are nearly empty, leaving the more nutritious meat on the plate, untouched.. this is a hint about how we know we are truly leaving the heart of our problems aside, untouched while we expend much effort eating away at the less important side dish that is filled with unimportant problems of the day...

truly.. a wonderfully done piece of photographic art.. to be applauded.

(also, the casual snap shot feel of the photograph represents the casual attitude we have for this horrible situation we are in.. not only will we do this stuff, but we will do it gleefully, and without much decorum..)

Absolutely not true. I ballooned up to over 180lbs--and for me that's fat. I love to eat. Eating is my hobby. I hate to exercise. But, I do what's necessary to be able to live the longest healthiest life possible. I've lost over 30 lbs and am now back to 150--a weight I feel almost comfortable with. I'm shooting for 145 and I'll hit it over the next month or so.

I used to exercise 6 days a week; but a health problem got in the way. I'll be back to that schedule again soon. Two hours--every day! Aerobics. Then two days weight training a week in addition.

The only thing hard about it is the discipline.

I don't care how others live their lives. I have fat friends. Not to be stereotypical, but they are lots of fun. Mostly. Do I have opinions about being over weight? (And just about everything else you could think of too.) Well, obviously I do. When it comes right down to it, do I care? No. Everybody has the right to be the person they are and live the life they feel right for them.

Warning: more thread drift.

Reminds me of something from a show with actors pretending to be contestants on a reality show (Joe Schmo 2, season two), with two actual "contestants". As part of each episode, they included many interviews with the actors about how they thought things were doing. Once one of the actors (Gerald; gotta-be-gay-guy) was on camera saying about his character to the effect "Gerald. I've never met anyone like him yet. But I don't think he's gay. I think he's Canadian."

jkisha, let's think of a hypothetical situation here okay? You're gay right? That's just the fact of the matter and you don't hide it and aren't ashamed of it. And let me be perfectly clear that I have no negative feelings about gay people or whatever. Good friends, nice people, no problems.

But imagine now, someone comes into some post and says something like this (bear with the language, it is for the sake of argument):

OK, I'm just going to come out and say it...there's no reason for any person to be fagging it up in some drama-queenish like shit like that, and even less reason for anyone else to support or encourage it. I'm not saying that everyone should be straight, there's nothing wrong with being gay, but geeze, take a little pride in yourself, that shit is just plain over-the-top and embarrassing.

Sorry if this sounds judgmental, but I find it hard not to be at times; it's a personal weakness.

<photo of exaggerated "gay" photo>

Then some 20 or more posts later and laughs aside and mocking other campy photos.

A defensive response to this would be "hey, you don't need validation from some damn forum schmucks." Stiff upper lip and all that shit. Still, it's an attack on your character, who you are.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think obesity is acceptable. However, unless someone is trying to advocate for it being acceptable, homing in on the weight or some other personal characteristic of a person isn't necessary, and can cross the line into "bullying."

Why might this be a problem? A hostile atmosphere of "bullying" means that people aren't going to be open about much. Maybe it's not a problem, not my call.

Just laying this shit out there.

Ok again I am going to ask again

Why does it matter if I am fat? How is this effecting you in any way, shape or form?

I did not ask anyone here for diet advice, I did not say I was un happy being fat. This topic has NOTHING to do with weight in any way shape or form! But suddenly when I say my weight I have people coming out of the fucking wood work telling me what I need to do and who I need to be.

What fucking business is it to you what I look like, what I eat ect ect. I did not ask for any advice. I don't tell people how much they should drink because you run the risk of your liver failing. I don't tell you oh that picture you look a _________. You really should not wear that. I don't tell people hey you should'nt be fucking that much on the playa cause you run the risk of herpes.

Who the hell am I to fucking judge any of you and how to live your life in what makes you happy. Unless you ask for it im not going to.

So PLEASE tell me why the hell does it fucking matter to you or how does it effect you that I am over weight? Cause this shit of telling me im wrong and what i need to do to be "ok" with you is really starting to tick me off and is really not in true burner fashion as far as im concerned.
jkisha wrote:Yes, but no matter how beautifully they are made up, they are medically speaking, obese.
Ok if you would like to go that route ok.
Do you buy all organic fruits and vegetables?
Do you buy free range chicken and chicken eggs?
Do you buy grass fed free range beef?
Do you only drink milk and water?
Do you brush your teeth with baking soda and water only?

There is alot of stuff im sure you do that is not healthy. So you can not sit here and tell me I need to be healthy when you yourself are putting harmful things into your body as well.
jkisha wrote: .

Ok so you are saying fat people are unhealthy. But yet you got down in weight and had to stop exercise because of a health problem? I am very able to exercise. I have no health problems other then my thyroid. Hell I have not gotten the flu sense I was 16 and get a cold once a year. I am 100+ pounds bigger then you and have been for many years but I am still healthier then you..... things that make you go hummmmm?

Wouldn't be a problem for me. If it were, I'd address it in my own way, whatever that might be.
I usually post the first thing that comes to my mind when I read a post. I actually waited a bit on this one.
Sometimes I've had a glass or two of wine when posting.
Hey. It's a BBS. Sometimes I post something that later I come to either not believe or have been convinced I was wrong.
Doesn't much matter now, does it? I have similar conversations with people in person. Everybody isn't going to like me or what I say. I can't help that. I'm too old to censor myself--just blame it on the Ahlzheimer's and the fact that old people become mean and crotchety.

I don't do any of those things. But then again, I'm not fat.
I used to smoke too...3 packs of Pall Mall reds a day for years. Don't do that any more either.
The thing I don't understand, and the only reason I am going on antagonizing you is WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU EVEN GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHAT I, A COMPLETE STRANGER, THINKS ABOUT YOU???
I just can't resist pushing your buttons and you make it more irresistible with each new post you make.
You are who you are. Like it or change it. There is no reason to have to justify it--not to me or to anyone else. Not even to your mother, which is actually what this thread is about now, isn't it?
