I wonder if that is for the pet buddies or the pet owners?theCryptofishist wrote:And I thought that maybe they should be offset in age, so they don't die around the same time...
Frida turned 1 year old on Halloween, and I was pretty sentimental about her getting all grown up. I'm very attached, and I can't fathom seeing them ever pass. But, such is life!
Frida is much more calm as a result of having a playmate. She was just too co-dependent on me and my wife.
Luckily, the puppy can hang with a bit of rough play because they are always at it!

Re: ePlaya Pets
Fixed that (as a currently 3-cat person). We're big on adopting litter-mates - cats don't bond as easily to "outsiders" as dogs do, and when adopted separately they almost never have the affection that litter-mates will. Obviously, that means we get them all at the same time, but that doesn't mean they pass-on together. Our last cats lived to 12 & 17, the sister who died at 12 was the dominant one, so the other one blossomed into a much warmer old lady than she had been. We also spoiled her even more rotten those last 5 years. The current Hoard is 2 1/2, and couldn't be a better bunch of kitties if we tried.lucky420 wrote:i've always felt that pets should come in twos groups (as long as owner can afford both)

Re: ePlaya Pets
This is Peyote.
Of all the animals that have been a part of my life over the last 40 years, he's the one that had the biggest impact on me. I went through some really rough times and there were a lot of days, where I would start to think that the world would be better off without me in it. He always seemed to know when I was in a bad way, and he wouldn't leave me alone, even if I screamed or was violent towards him. I remember getting really drunk one night, and I was totally freaking out about something. He kept pushing against me, and pawing at me. I flipped and punched him in the shoulder. He yipped, and I realized what I had done, and I started crying. He climbed in my lap and laid down, and I sat there holding him, crying and apologizing until I fell asleep. The next morning, I woke up on the living room floor laying beside him, with my head on his shoulder. When I sat up, he climbed in my lap again and started licking my face. He had no fear or anger towards me for what I had done. I realized I was his entire world, and if I was gone, there was no one to take care of him. I also finally admitted how messed up I was, and got my ass into therapy. I truly believe, that if it hadn't been for Peyote, I wouldn't be here now. Unfortunately, I lost him to bone cancer a couple of weeks before his 9th birthday. He's been gone for 9 1/2 years, but I still miss him like it happened yesterday. This shot is from a photo shoot when he was 8 months old. This is from the summer before he died. You can't see them in the picture, but he was actually following a family of ducks around the pond.

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic agnostic guy with insomnia? He lies awake at night wondering if there is a dog.

Casper seems to be in charge of all!
Catman, I use photobucket.. once an image is uploaded to your account there as you have done, single click to the right of your photo within the 'Direct' dialogue box, it might flash yellow a bit signifying that you have copied the URL to your machine's clipboard.. Then, in eplaya, in your newly created post, click on the 'Img' tab above the main text entry area and a little code will appear on screen. Something like this [img-][-/img] Put your cursor between the ][ and hit paste, and you should be good to go.
Hopefully we'll get to see more pictures of Casper and Rascal!

Thank for the info bvb. That's what I did originally and this is what I came up with. I clicked the url tab on eplaya and got the "link" to the picture.

I'll keep playing with it.
