Re: Rest In Peace
I am going to Eugene OR this weekend to see the widow of an old friend. I had plenty of chances to go up and see him over the years, but I wasted those opportunities. Now I must go up and see the void left behind by his passing.

Sorry, Gw. His spirit is free, now, and you and your family had time to prepare. I know, this doesn't make it any easier.

Well, I came back from Eugene. Alison was holding up well; I like to think that my presence with her that day helped her somehow. She's got lots of friends and they're not leaving her alone.
So I have an armload of Gil's shamanic paraphernalia. I made a little museum/shrine in the corner. Don't know if if/how/when I will carry on his legacy.

My friend jarjar. He only had 23 post here (well below the "drivel line") but I knew him on tribe.net. And met him once in person. 7:00 pm last night. Some nasty lung thing, never diagnosed. He'd been dealing with it for years.

Bummer to hear the above, he was way to young. As to your paying respect to a fallen Marine with the Semper Fi, (Always Faithful) I am not Marine, but Army, but your respectful and heartfelt comment is so noted. Thank you

So sorry Fishy! Is this maybe the same Jarjar I met years ago on the playa at DMV - he was one of the DMV volunteers? This is truly a loss to the whole community (drink).

jarjar was not a fan of me and very often told everyone on tribe that he thought I was crazy to help Caleb - I never held that against jarjar though, he was entitled to his opinion. sad to see anyone pass on too young

I worked with JarJar, and there were more sides to him, Deb.
He tried so hard to keep attending when he got sicker.
When he couldn't work shifts any longer, everyone sent him sad condolences.
I managed to make him laugh.
I really wanted to see him again.

Just how sick is it to hear about someone famous dying, not even someone whose work you were acquainted with, and rush to this thread to break the news?

Ah... Amy Winehouse, found dead. Certainly no surprise, but sad nonetheless.
A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

RIP Amy Winehouse. I loved her music, her soul, but her demons finally took her. It's sad when anyone dies so young, celebrity or not. I hope she found the peace she's been looking for.

I loved Amy Winehouse's music before most people even knew who she was. To say she will be missed is an understatement.
