We have been under a compensation study at work to try and "fix" issues created by past management regarding salaries etc. "position" includes classes, so say you are a Computer Tech, all grades, I, II, and III are considered "in position" so if you have been "in position" for over 10 years you don't get a raise because:

"The purpose of the time in position adjustment is to differentiate salaries between employees with less than two years and those between two and ten years. Based on input from compensation professionals and industry standards, an employee typically reaches their maximum level of learning in a position within three to four years. Gonzo and I had just been befriending a local burner named Tom or "Eye-Full". He had a 40' swing that he'd set up around 5:30 for the last 5 years. He had been meeting with us frequently about volunteering for the Pottie Project this year on a full time basis. He was very enthusiastic.

Last Wednesday 6/5, a few hours after gonzo and I met with him,he hit a tree at a tight turn and flipped his porche. He is no longer with us. He was a very kind man and a new friend that we were bonding with exponentially with every meeting.

We will be going to the Temple this year for him.
