fuckin good old friend, 72, is dying of cancer.........super healthy, no stress, happy........goin fast, and he's the only "grandpa" my daughter has ever known.........he struggled to see her the other day, and wrote her a letter of recommendation, for her future......tears my fuckin heart out to see a gesture like that, knowing he'll never see her again, singer her praises and writing of the love for her.......poor girl, it's breakin her heart, as well.

Lucky for those of us who just keep on appreciating our lives while we have them, and facing the inevitable with not much thought.
She's blessed to have had him in her life, and I hope she can accept that everything is temporary... she's young, still, and has more of life's lessons ahead, as even us old farts have! Somehow, we manage to persevere...
