Point taken. Granted, I'm no Don Juan, - but in my experience that is pretty common behavior. Pretty much can't think of a single relationship I've been in that statement doesn't apply to. But maybe it's just the kind of women I attract / or are attracted to.theCryptofishist wrote:*eyeroll* That's one woman. Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Now I'm picturing a duel between Eliot and Big Tony Cortigene, who with his two large, silent companions, persuaded me that it would be a good idea after all to join the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

Had my morning coffee right here, with the 2 dogs. Starting to ponder the act of laying out the stuff for this year, see what I need/don't need. Hard to believe it is June already....can't wait....

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
I've been watching model A Fords on eBay, just kind'a window shopping. A bone stock model A would be perfect for putt-putting to the Post Office and the grocery store in this little town, like James Garner in Murphy's Romance. Last week this 1930 was listed, just 200 miles from my house. The seller claims it runs, with new brakes and tires. So I mentioned it to my buddy Peter, who drove a model A as his only motorized transportation well into the 1980s. He bought it. Like he does not have enough to do, with two small children and the lovely wife who produced them! So this car may just get stored for now, but that's fine. Best I can understand it, this was a good deal at $3.500. We'll probably store it at my place, since I have room and he doesn't.
The mail-and-groceries run is only six miles round trip, on 25 mph streets. I can walk home if it conks out.
(Gotta replace the headlights first though. The ones on it are too new and small.)

Spray paint and a shitty t-shirt.
I'm wearing it at the library right now.
The civilians are trying to make like they don't see it.
The librarians ladies like it.
They're always the coolest ones in the joint.
I have two custom mylar stencils for the front and one for the back on the way...

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Our kitty got stuck under the house today. All tangled up in the poly twine that holds up the insulation under the floor. Had to clean out the back room closet to get to the access hatch. The cleaning was looong overdue...
In the process I ended up finding all kinds of neat stuff that I hadn't seen in years, literally. Lots of electronic test & measurement instruments, electronics parts, my oak machinist's tool chest, gun parts aaaaand
OH HAPPY DAY!!!
My two favorite kinds of magazines!!!
Reminded me of an old ditty from the army that folks had to do when they called their weapon a gun:
This is my weapon (Grabs rifle)
This is my gun (Grabs crotch)
This is for fighting (Shakes rifle)
This is for fun! (Shakes crotch)
Oh yeah, kitty is fine

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
My manager and assistant general manager were fired over the weekend.
partly due to retaliation efforts against me for questions asked during an employee meeting. Woot!
Now just the supervisor left, but if we actually hire a cio that knows her head from her ass (which the new CEO's hires have been EXCELLENT so far, but a little heavy on the white man side of things), my supervisor will be gone soon after opening her mouth and showing the depths of her duh-ness.
I really hate to see anyone lose their jobs.....
