Oh my. I hate for my burner friends to be taunted. I hate it that you are feeling suchSilverOrange wrote:The damn lost and found thread is just sitting there taunting me with it's zero posts. Every time I log in, there it sits, empty, just waiting. 0
angst from the lost and found thread reading "0". I have thought all day about this.
Well, not all day... I feel your sorrow, my little silvery-orange friend. I am here to help.

Incidentally, that Harvey Danger song mentioned in the PETA thread is called Flagpole Sitta', not Sitter. Also, their final show is the day before BM starts in Seattle. You can still download their third (and apparently final) album at HarveyDanger.com

Zingiberales is an order of flowering plants. The order has been widely recognised by the taxonomists, at least for the past few decades. This order includes many familiar plants like ginger, cardamom, turmeric, galangal and myoga of the Zingiberaceae or ginger family, and bananas and plantains of the Musaceae or banana family, along with arrowroot of the Marantaceae or arrowroot family.
It is considered that the Zingiberales together with the Commelinales evolved around 80 millions of years ago during the Late Cretaceous.

Pets are easier. They rush up to you after a hard day's work and jump and wag their tail from excitement. (Okay, those are dog pets, and not even all dogs.) People are simply a more fraught and fragile relationship.

I actually think it's kind of cheating to get on line and ask people to vote that your dog is the cutest, your kid is the smartest, your mate is the sexiest, your cheesecake is the tastiest, etc.
Of course, maybe it's not different than "real" voting out here in the hinterlands of democracy.
Oh dear, I rather like that phrase "the hinterlands of democracy" too much.

Not sure that its cheating now - ten years ago maybe - but more people have access so all contestants would be reaching out online. ~shrug~theCryptofishist wrote:I actually think it's kind of cheating to get on line and ask people to vote that your dog is the cutest, your kid is the smartest, your mate is the sexiest, your cheesecake is the tastiest, etc.
Sounds like a good title for a book. Are you writing one?Of course, maybe it's not different than "real" voting out here in the hinterlands of democracy.

No to Both. And if I were writing I'd have to throw it out under the "always throw out those little bits you are in love with because those are the stupid parts" or however that bit of writing advice goes.
I wish I had had more coffee earlier in the day.
I could use a latte--and I'm on phones for the next h0ur and a half.

"What's he like?" "You're going to like him" "He gave a powerpoint presentation" "He has no idea what it's like here" "It's not like the job for San Francisco..."
Pretty dull stuff, really but we've been waiting for him for a year or so.
