Re: Time for a Happy Thread
I'mhappy because after all the road blocks, I'm going home! I'm happy because I get to meet and hug a lot of new friends I've come to love, and I get to hug the friends I met last year!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Beautiful morning! My taxi driver was fast, and helpful with my bags (tipped him to hell and back afterwards! That was fun!) and everybody at the train station was just--above and beyond. (Can one tip a conductor, or is that weird?) I'm in love with the world* and I'm still 670 miles ... 669 ... 668 ... from the Burn! Gotta cherish this feeling while it lasts.

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
went to budget early this morning to get the truck. 2 people ahead of me in line. As I'm sitting there in walk 2 men and pretty sure they are burners by their colorful mohawks (one was PINK)! So I says to em "What camp are you with?" and Pink mohawk says "Barbie Death" and I'm like "omg me too" Turns out it was Bobbin and Water (Bob Sherman) YAY!
We chatted for a bit and then I was called into the little office to get the truck. As I'm waiting at the counter I hear a few more people come in. I turn around and here's this guy with a cute little girlfriend. I stare at him, he stares at me..."are you on eplaya?" "JS?"
Yep it was mr. junglesmacks and his lady!! Big hugs all around...it was a great start to a great 10 days

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
yayyy 420! That IS a good start.
I have a big, old grin on my face every time I enter a store and they have burner friendly advertisements.
Just yesterday, I saw a "burning man special" advertisement, at a salon, for getting vajazzled. Gave me a chuckle

I happy that I had a great weekend with my husband! A little sad that I have to go to college tomorrow and that I'm not going home this year.

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Ok, so I spoke with wedeliver tonight! He's doing fine! Not only is it his birthday today, but he's also a new grandpa! YAY for him!! AND he's coming to the burn next year! I unfortunately didn't have a chance to meet him last year, some really lame issue was wasting all my time. However, it'll be very nice to meet him!! And I've received an open invitation from him to visit anytime! He really is a nice person and so is his wife. So I was thinking about going there for a few days before the burn to relax!

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
This happened last Tuesday but...
BEST BORDER CROSSING back into Canadiana from a Burn ever. It was 2am so I was a little dazed and tired, but upon telling the border guard we had been at "The Burning Man Festival in Nevada". He asked:
"How was it?"
And after we answered he also asked "Was it your first year?" and "So what exactly happens there?"
He seemed genuinely interested in Burning Man. It made me so happy! Maybe in future years we can get less flack crossing into the US too.

I got an invitation from Delta Mu Delta Honor society for Business.
Not sure how good that is, but I am almost at the end of my Masters, and I am going to be happy, dammit!

please dont forget about the people who helped you get to bm first. i think that is the most important thing to take care of first. once that is done moving should be up next. i understand living with an ex. it sucks.maryanimal wrote:Thank you so much Savannah!
