We know that the stuff available now is massively stronger than what was available 30 years ago. Perhaps that has changed a rare occurrence into a more frequent one.Risky wrote:I have several friends who have upchucked after smoking.

" villagers have for centuries sought out the bodies of recently deceased woman to be ghost brides for young men who die single.
Marriage ceremonies are conducted for the two corpses, and the bride is placed in the same grave as her husband."
"Last year, a gang in southern China was arrested for strangling young women to sell as ghost brides when the supply of female corpses in their area ran short."

One could almost write a comedy about this.

Swedish Christmas straw goat burnt

A giant straw goat - the traditional Scandinavian yuletide symbol - erected each Christmas in a Swedish town has been burned to the ground yet again.
The 13-metre (43-ft) high billy goat has been torched 24 times since it was first erected in Gavle in 1966.
The goat was set alight in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the city north of Stockholm.
City spokeswoman Anna Ostman said the incident, which is being treated as serious vandalism, was "sad".
"We had really hoped that he would survive Christmas and New Year's," she said.

As well as being burnt, the goat has over the years faced other acts of vandalism including being run over by a car, having its legs removed and being smashed.
After some experimentation, city officials decided not to spray the straw-covered wooden structure with fire-proofing chemicals as this discoloured the straw, making it "look like a brown terrier instead of a yellow straw goat" Ms Ostman said.
The city's website offers a bilingual blog and Twitter feed, as well as webcams to allow fans to follow the beleaguered goat's fate.
In one of its last entries, the goat writes: "Terrible night! Slept so well under my beautiful snow blanket, when it suddenly became awfully hot. It was fire!!! At 0300 someone managed to set me on fire and destroy the amazing Christmas spirit in Gavle."
Just 10 of Gavle's goats, built in the town's central square, have survived beyond Christmas since 1966.
Most have been burned, sometimes within hours of being erected in the first week of December.
The culprits are seldom caught. However, a 51-year-old American tourist spent 18 days in jail after being convicted of setting it alight in December 2001.

1976: A car crashes into the goat
1979: Goat is burned down before it is finished
1987: Goat is treated with fire-proofing, but is still burned down

SUN SHINES ON SOLSTICE CELEBRANTS
Thursday, January 28th 1999, 2:05AM
A judge has given a group of winter solstice celebrants on Staten Island something to really cheer about.
Criminal Court Judge Michael Brennan on Tuesday dismissed trespassing charges against revelers who were commemorating the winter solstice on a closed Staten Island beach on Dec. 21.
They were arrested when police found them dancing around a bonfire on South Beach.
The winter solstice was celebrated as a pagan holiday thousands of years before Christianity. The solstice marks the time of the year when the sun travels in its lowest arc across the horizon, resulting in the shortest day of the year.
"Commemoration of this occasion for religious, historical or educational purposes is to be commended, not sanctioned," Brennan wrote in his decision.
Staten Island District Attorney William Murphy recommended dismissing charges against 23 people given citations by city police. Nine still face $50 fines because their summonses were issued by the city's Parks Department.
The police and mayor's office referred inquiries to the department, whose spokesman said the celebrants had committed serious violations of park rules.
"It was a special event held without notification of the Parks Department, and with no regard for fire safety regulations," Edward Skyler said.
Revelers who still face fines said they view the judge's dismissal of the charges against their fellow celebrants as a rebuke of Mayor Giuliani, and said they plan to participate in the event next year.
"I don't think I would want to go if we got arrested every year, but I would want to go again," said Heather Abramson.

Nevada brothel gets final OK for male prostitutes
BEATTY, Nev. (AP) - A brothel about 150 miles northwest of Las Vegas has gotten final approval of plans to hire Nevada's first legal male prostitutes.
The Nye County Licensing and Liquor Board on Tuesday approved a compliance agreement that will allow the Shady Lady Ranch brothel to make the hires as long as the men wear condoms and undergo weekly health tests.
Shady Lady owner and operator Jim Davis says the ranch could get a male on staff in as little as two weeks.
Two licensing board members voted against the compliance agreement, expressing worries that not all health concerns have been addressed.
Board member and Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo says he's worried that female customers can't and won't be subjected to the same types of pre-sex examinations undergone by men in most of Nevada's legal brothels.

She said in the ad that whoever rents the room would have to stay confined to the bathroom while in the apartment, so I'm pretty sure that would make dining areas off limits. Fucking crazy lady.jkisha wrote:I don't think she is asking that. She is asking if someone wants to rent her bathroom to sleep--so maybe she is asking them if they want to sleep where they shit. There are lots of busy people that only use their apartment for sleeping, showering and getting ready to go. For Your Enjoyment

Good news is that I truly outdid myself this year with my Christmas decorations.
The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days.
I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.
Great stories.
But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy).
By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that.
My yard couldn't take it either.
I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.
Kind of feel like I gave in to the man by taking him down but my neighbor did confirm to near miss accidents on the busy street next to my house.
I think I made him too real this time.
So it was fun while it lasted!
