Oh no! This thread died off again (and I totally didn't notice
). Just wanna say that even though I'm not a super poster on eplaya, I really do enjoy creeping the threads on this forum during my down time, while occasionally throwing a post in here or there. I'd probably post more if I'd met some of you face - to - face (penpals after the burn anyone?), otherwise I still can't wrap my head around an online conversation when my frame of reference is an avatar pic. Example: jella is a goat.... wha? I really hope to meet a few of you peeps at Meet n Greet or some other time during the burn.

Fufa, I find that people don't gel for me 100% until I meet them in person, too. Then it's like the last piece of the puzzle snaps into place, and reality goes from black and white to color. Or from 2 shades of khaki and orange to color.
The best part is, in my experience, people are always much more fun in person.
I cannot say this for myself, mind you (I might be quieter and more awkward in person, especially at first, or with introverts) but anyone else I already like seems like a goddamned rock star in the flesh.

Burning Man isn't about the stuff you see when you get there ....it's about the people that brought that stuff there

I hate to disagree with you but you are a super poster. I enjoy reading your posts. Fewer posts make each one even better!Fufa wrote:Oh no! This thread died off again (and I totally didn't notice). A penpal is a wonderful thing. I have dozens of postcards to bring to which I have attached an address label and a stamp. All that is needed are words and a jog to the mailbox!
Penpals by postcard is a super sweet way to go. It takes the pressure off both parties, is light hearted, and it provides many beautiful pictures for your wall, fridge, or album!
YOU are a rockstar! Thank you dear for putting my thoughts into words.Savannah wrote:Fufa, I find that people don't gel for me 100% until I meet them in person, too. And Figgy, thanks for the laughs. You're a rockstar too!

Aww thanks foxfur! You're a sweetie pie. Postcard penpals is such a cool idea. I buy postcards as souvenirs when I go on trips and keep them in a photo album with ticket stubs and whatnot from the same trip included. It makes for cheap, easy, and effective storage of memories and odds and ends! The Mister has a thick pad of Gumby stationary that when you fold the paper in half it becomes an envelope. I keep bugging him to send me random prose in the mail, but I haven't gotten anything yet. I think he forgot
