Good morning dear ones.
Thank you cat man I didn't know that. He said it smelled good I think it seemed to help
It's actually cold here hooray
Re: The Bar 2016 Edition
Hello barflies!
Sunday here. I'm thinking a reclining nude is my next project. I also have two more piles that can become "le petite tetons." And another remake of the snowsnake here that has been completely buried. Then some hot cocoa with marshmallows.

The next morning you will wake up pretty much your old self except that a very unusual 16 hours will have been added to your store of life experience.
Re: The Bar 2016 Edition
Awesome monster, BeeWeeDee.
Good Morning Bar. Yep cold, but not bad, since I don't' have to go out yet, and it is quite sunny. Friday, it was warm in the forties, in the morning, wet, and planning on rain. "too warm to snow" By the end of the day at 6pm, there was 24 degrees, three inches of snow on the car, and the parking lot was completely iced. With the new parking plan I had about two hundred yards to get to my car, one foot down flat at a time. Yikes. They have decided that the night shift parks close to the building, and the day shift parks far away from the entrance, "to be able to plow and salt... and prevent slips and trips... urh? Since we had a real downpour of rain recently, no salt or gravel.
One more week of nutty overtime, 11 hour days, two on, one off. three on, one off. I slept about 12 hours last night, four in the chair, and 8 in the bed, and feel pretty good today. I'm going to a bacon festivity at the Morris this afternoon, and have the bacon cooked, and now, wondering wtf I'm going to make with it. Merry merry y'all.

Afternoon All!!
Got a fire goin in the fireplace.
That is something straight out of Calvin and Hobbs there BeeWeeDee.
I do remember the Chevron truck stop that used to occupy Cabela's.
Hang on to your hats: there is going to be over 200 houses built behind Cabela's

Ellorrum: Do you live in the north valleys? That's the area that got bullseyed by that snow squall last Friday.
Be careful driving on 395 between Golden Valley south to Oddie Blvd as that hill can ice up very badly.

I don't remember Bill and Effies but my former supervisor, a Sparks native, told me about it. It was originally a small truck stop/café on old US40 about a mile or so east of Boomtown. Former Reno mayor Bob Gashell bought it sometime in the late 60s early 70s and relocated it to the current Boomtown location naming it Boomtown.ygmir wrote:I like it there, too!
do either of you remember "Bill and Effies(sp?)", or "The Liberty Bell"?
dang I'm old........hahah

Re: The Bar 2016 Edition
God afternoon, Bar! It's a chilly afternoon in the bay, though chilly for us is nothing compared to what a lot of other folks get. The last few weeks have been all kinds of busy, and the next few will probably also busy... but thinking lots of dusty thoughts, and hope you're doing the same.

Yesterday I was pruning a tree, using a variety of ladders, when a neighbor came over carrying one of those "fall stopper" cable reels. No harness, which is kinda important, but he brought me what he had, seeming genuinely concerned for my safety. I am so fortunate to have such fine neighbors!
