Friends sent me photos of them living in a hut on a beach on a tiny island in Fiji. I sent them photos from BRC. Back and forth: But this is here! But this is here!
Definitely opposites as far as dust, humidity, numbers of people, type of nature.

Well, a 1400 square foot two bed/two bath oceanfront condo isn’t exactly a “hut”.
And I do this for less money than BM always cost me.
And you can do all sorts of stuff free if you play the timeshare sales game. Give them between 1/2 and 2 hours to try to convince you it’s a great idea to give them $40,000 - which you don’t do - and they give you 7-hour Hawaii ocean sailing trips, hundreds of dollars in cash, all sorts of stuff.
See, it’s like Burning Man, you get free gifts but they’re way better than some piece of random moop some hippie made with his wood burning set and a glue gun.

Oh! And the cops here are pretty chill and don’t hassle you. They don’t want people to have a bad time here.

Heya gang! Been a while. I had an interesting burn this year; not what I expected, but then, you know the old saying about expectations and the playa. Things went fine overall, just a different set of challenges this year.

It was great getting to visit several of you! Others, unfortunately, I missed this year. I've been doing a lot of catching up at home since, and getting set for winter. Definitely getting an early taste of cold weather the last couple of days!

The old bar here sure is quiet these days. Perhaps at some point, we'll get 'er fired up full throttle again.

Yep, I recall you mentioning beforehand that you wouldn't be able to make it out to the playa ygmir. Sorry you weren't there this year. Certainly it's no small feat to prep all of the things, etc. I'm hoping I still have a few more left in me! There are also regionals to consider as well.

Glad to hear the rock siding on the Hof is going well. Sounds like a lot of heavy lifting eh! At this point I'm guessing it's buttoned up for another winter. Any recent pics? I seem to recall you saying that you had a county bridge wash out some time ago, did they ever finally come out and repair it?

Meanwhile, I'm always looking to find time for art here. Seems it's a constant battle... lots of ideas, not enough time to go around. Ah well...
