Rubs dirt into scratch and bruise... Hmmm I thought that might happen.

How many days left? I need to go do laundry, I've worn my weirdest least worn outfits the last couple days in avoidance. Gonna check my tire cables to see if the aren't rotten after a decade in the car. Going over the mountains to see my sister this weekend. "Over the mountains and through the woods." My grandmother used to live in a cabin built onto two trailer campers in the woods of Washington. I can still remember the smoky wet smell and getting there in the night and listening to grown ups talk old stories before being carried to bed in the teardrop trailer bedroom.

Morning everyone.

Best wishes to everyone travelling this holiday especially anyone going over a mountain.

I personally volunteer to work Christmas Day every year in order to avoid having to go anywhere.

I had wonderful zero plans for Christmas, but the SIL wants us to come to dinner. Also, half a foot of snow or more expected for the valley floor. Means the ski resorts are going to be extremely joyous.

Never too late to "call in sick" for dinner! Do not volunteer to bring anything vital and you can bail at any moment.

Morning MDF, Anti M This yearas for the last 4 or so we put the WORD #out to our friends and tennis club members to empty their closets of no longer needed warm clothing. We collect it and at 1pm on Xmas eve day we set up a table on the street across from Glide Memoial church in SF and the homeless come by and take what they need This was started some years ago by a small group of Burnees. For us it always a very moving experience. We know we have a warm home with food in the fridge. So very fortunate are we

BTW alll in our area are welcome to join in. We will be on Eliis St across from Glide from 1pm untill about 2pm. No signs, just a bunch of folks handing out clothes on December 24th

I am only a tiny bit stressed today, no seriously, I have everything ready except this cake in the oven, which I will never even taste because it's a gift for my ancient father-in-law.

Chocolate sponge. I will put a layer of black raspberry jam in the middle and cover it with chocolate ganache. He will serve it tomorrow when my husband's sister and her family come to visit. We always think this will keep them from eating all the candy I made for him but somehow it never does!
