Morning Bar!

Working for a couple of hours this morning and then off to Pyramid Lake. As Piney would say "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

Yes ASD wish you were joining us too. I think we're going to try and make a floating island of all of our random floaties tied together. Piney thought of this while up at the Hof last time. If anybody has seen Jaws 2 think of when the kids had to tie their sailboats together...

Good morning bar, and happy Friday!

Last night's maintenance went smoothly, and everything under the hood should be purring like a kitten through the rest of the season (we see a big increase in traffic beginning on placement day, and then it just keeps ramping up and up as the ticket/project/frenzy mode builds through gate day).

I wasn't drinking bacon vodka though. I'm not much of a bloody mary guy (as in, I don't drink them at all), I'd rather just have both bacon and have vodka (not necessarily at the same time). Now a nice morning beer and some bacon, that works. In fact, I might just go see if I can wrangle that in a couple minutes.

I'm heading into an exceptionally awesome day. Yesterday I heard from a former space pirate, one of my best friends and hardcore ass-kicking campmates. The camp he was with last year had a particularly rough time and he had a really lousy burn and he wasn't planning on coming this year, but he'd recently had a change of heart. Back when the dust was settling from last year I'd offered to him that if he wanted to come back this year he should camp with us. He was asking if the offer still stood.. hell yeah!

Today I'll get some more design work done on some new parts I'm making, and tonight we've got dinner and drinks with a campmate. Good times! Happy Friday!

I am looking into possible means of playa transportation
or change my ways and don't do usual daily volunteer shifts

and I am trying to disconnect "somewhat" from family
it does become so complex when they really adultify

proxy drinker appreciated tonight. Not as badly needed as last night, but it is my Friday, after a rugged week. I'm listening to KBMR, rebroadcasting through KXNV 89.1, live from Grass Valley World Music Festival. Lucinda Williams up next. Richard Thompson was great, and a band called Achilles Wheel in the middle.

I think a nice cold pilsner would be fine.

Morning Bar!

Oh ellorum, I really really really wish you had weekends off! Camping at Pyramid Lake was super extra fun and a great precursor to TTITD. You were missed.

Friday. Night brought a nice big storm that lasted from about 6 pm until 3am... Strong winds guesstimated gusts at 40moh at times. Then the. Wind changed directions at about1 am. Saturday late night brought rainstorm with winds but not quite as strong. Daytime was beautiful with much swimming involved.

Now back to the big grindstone,harness me up...

Reno Compression is this coming weekend! Lots of controlled burn, art cars, belly dancers, Morris hotel shenanigans, all the things.
