Of course we have no neighbors.
I mowed the front lawn sans clothes a few weeks ago. I'd never done that before!

If I had no neighbors I wouldn't be mowing the lawn.

Next year I'm tearing the thing out and expanding my vegetable garden, it might be a bit more productive than applying water so it grows, cutting it, and repeating.

With any luck I'll have something worthwhil....er, topical to post here in the next week.

Hey, there's a precedent for everything.

Got up early and wondered what to do today (besides post on eplaya...).
I wasn't going to bother with fixing the toilet in the trailer. Then I thought how uncool it would be to leave the air conditioned comfort to enjoy the steamy sauna of stranger's shit that is the JOTS during the day. I'm not going to be in the trailer all day every day, but, even one trip saved would make it worthwhile.
Because it's raining I ended up having to put the seat cushions, table top, newly cut floor panels, and a mess of tools in the truck to be able to move around in the trailer. Now I need to go to the store... Fuck

Impact gun + self tapping screws = no stripped threads. Only took two stripped screws to figure that one out. I'm a wizard, duh.

last night tried out the additions to the 'flamethrower' ; some pulsed solenoid valves fed from the accumulator to make rapid fire flames. Valves are labelled 120vac, but work on 12vdc just fine at lower pressures, up to about 100 psi. Then the gaussian vortex is not enough to open the port. Seeing as there is both 12 and 24v available on FOGBANK, and more gell cells on the bench, next try will be with 24vdc at higher pressure(full acumulator)

Not optimal valves / rating for this application, but they are what is in the batcave.

But the effect is way cool. Need to plumb the discharge for valve #2 and more testing. Thankfully most of the neigbors are away, and the rest of them 'wonder' or come over to see WTF the crazy man is doing now.

Oh hells yeah! I forgot to try mine out on 12vdc. Gonna do that today.
Aw crap! Just realized that while the quad SSR's ctrl voltave is ~5-30VDC, the transfer 'contacts' are ~20-250VAC, yar!
Autofire may not be possible.
A electromechanical relay might produce some interesting effects from contact bounce tho...
Using two relays (one DPDT, one as an supply voltage cutoff) I think I could work up an alternating autofire system.
Or a single relay with solenoid power tapped off the coil.
I need to get another accumulator...
Those other two tanks have a funny thread between 3/4 and 1 inch. Hafta throw the pitch gage on them threads, mike the root depth, and check my Machinery's Handbook.
I was contacted last night by an old friend. He wants me to help him build a fire drum for his performace group at BM. He wants a circle of vertical flames on the outside edge and a jet out the side. I reminded him that he's flammable. His reply?

Heres the Idea in my head, tried to use different colors for different parts to make it understandable, yellow is the chain drive. my main problem is finding the huge Courregated irrigation tube everyone uses for wheels, the rest I should be able to find on craigslist or something

tech name is CAP, corrugated aluminum pipe, used extensively for road drainage...see your local dyking district or publick works department

From what i've seen I thought it was plastic not aluminum. But it could be black painted aluminum... It would probably be lighter than the plastic of the same diameter anyways so Ill look into that.
