No, you probably shouldn't.

This morning's selection is a blend called Meaning of Life. Very dark.

sputnik's brewed the coffee
much as Sartre would drink,
dark enough so that you cannot
see the bottom of the abyss.
I'll take a small cup this morning.

(Passing through filling coffee mug)

Good morning all, how’s your day starting so far?

You know, I was thinking...

Yesterday RJ says that she’ll “Sic those kittens” on rodent. Well, now I gotta say that I’ve never in my life seen a cat that’ll sic. I’m a cat and I don’t sic worth a shit. In fact, if you told me to “get ‘em, boy”, I’d probably lean back in my chair and laugh at you.

I do know of some animals that’ll do stuff like that though.... dogs.

Makes me wonder just how much feline is under that white fur.

Ok, I'm outta here...

*Deciding on a dramatic entrance of her own, fishy rides up on a steed snorting fire and gets off its back in a whoosh of cape. She strides into the bar and dips the barkeep for a deep kiss. Not sure how to follow this up, she grabs a Pete's and sits at a table and fidgits nervously.*

Fuckin' blasphemy. Heresy! Ok, so it might not be a classic, per se, but Snow Crash is one of my favorite long distance driving companions.

I always have to add sugar and creamer to my coffee. I haven't found any I could drink without. Bleh...wish they tasted as good as they smell!

Ok, I'm off to the yellow submarine with wheels!

Mh. Eye in the Sky. VALIS. Diana Wynne Jones for good children's fantasy. And George RR Martin seems to have left me stranded in the middle of six books.Dang bastard. I knew I should never have started that book even though I got it for $2.00 in the hardbound club edition! Mars Trilogy. Antartica and the Gold Coast. (oooh Rare trifecta for Robinson!)

And you Minnesotans have no business ignoring homeboy Steven Brust. His Jhereg series rocks. Some quasi-duds in there, but the over all story arc is interesting. And he's going some interesting places with it.

If he ever actually writes any more of them. At this pace he could die without finishig them. Which might mean he dies without becoming a self-parody. Could be a good thing.

Ooops. Please remember I married into the tribe. And spend two years in St. Paul.

What I failed to convey is my dissapointment at reading the same book over and over wiht a different title and slightly adjusted characters as so often happens when a once-good writer gets into a successful rut.

Fishy, with the Baroque Cycle he went the other way, it is a historical trilogy... pretty much straight science right out of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.... with lots of historical figures popping in and out... hell, it's even got pirates!
