Does it violate protocol to hide from a Wolf Explosion in a foxhole?

I may have to use the name "Wolf Morsel", if I ever have cause to go undercover as a sportscaster....

It was a lovely playa-like sunset last night here in Sparks. The mountains and hills took on that golden hue that harolds another adventurous evening. Woke to find snow everywhere... playa too?

We had big happy fluffy flakes of snow yesterday morning. Image

The cat didn't know what to think, he wanted to catch them then remembered that snow is COLD! Image

Unfortunately the snow didn't stick...an hour later, it was just SOGGY. Image

Icy slop is the theme around these parts, today...It got up to FIFTY yesterday though, and I ran around outside building inuksuit (Inuit rock figures) and burning twigs...We've been having hundred-year high temps this Winter, ten degrees above average. Now it needs to either snow or produce crocuses.

Mounds of the famous Utah powder outside, too bad I don't ski. The temps will stay low, so no melting for a few days.

Still coming down, lake effect snow.

Robotland, I think I know where all your winter temps went.

HERE! It was 24 last night, but that's just priming the pump. We're supposed to hit 15 tonight and 7 tomorrow, not including wind chill. Bend's supposed to go sub-zero in the next couple days, too.

BTW, we're due to get Playa-force winds tomorrow. Argh...had chemo today...just in time, guys! Thank you, Alberta! Image

Yikes! High winds, thunder, lightning, and torrential downpours! All the snow's gone again....On a timelapse satellite image, Michigan would appear to be blinking.

Torrential downpour and lightning, sounds like normal winter here! I love thunderstorms...so long as I'm inside...

It's not going to get as bad as I typed above, but we're still going to see temps in the teens tonight, with snow after midnight from here to the coast. You know it's cold when the beach gets cloaked in snow...usually snow melts in coastal air because of all the salt.

I'm still bundling up, though...

Here we have the mysterious "Lake Effect" that governs snowfall and weather anomalies in general....Someone in South Haven (on the lake) talking on the phone to a Kalamazooan (forty miles inland) might say "Clear and sunny here, but kinda windy", to which the Kalamazooan replies "Snowing like crazy here!" and then, in unison, "Must be Lake Effect!". Not without SOME merit, it DID inspire "Lake Effect Stout".
We can take back the weather for a little while, if it'd take the edge off the chemo. Think dusty thoughts.....

Actually I'm thinking "Cat, buffalo skin and down comforter."

Don't worry about me...I'm provisioned, I think I have a strategy for minimization of the old Quickstep Effect, plenty of meds on hand, I'm hunkering down for the weekend. Just let me know when it gets above freezing...

Don't laugh, California, you're next!! Image

Pulls the lid of an oak whisky barrel. Sticks hand in with sound of small glass bottles. Ah haa! Mozy puts three on the barrel.
