R.I.P.
MODESTO, Calif. (KCBS) -- Winemaker Ernest Gallo died today at his home in Modesto, two weeks shy of his 98th birthday, according to the Gallo family.
Gallo and his brother, Julio, grew up working in the vineyard owned by their immigrant father who came to America from Italy's famed wine-making region of Piedmont.
The two started out during prohibition by shipping grapes to people who wanted to make wine themselves, according to KCBS Food and Wine Editor NARSAI DAVID.
After prohibition ended, the two founded E-and-J Gallo, making their first batch of bulk wine in a rented railroad shed, said Narsai.
Who's up for some MD 20/20 ?? Bartels and James??

And Joseph - the cheesemaker - died a few days ago. Seems the Gallo family is getting hit hard. Sad...ibdave wrote:MODESTO, Calif. (KCBS) -- Winemaker Ernest Gallo died today at his home in Modesto, two weeks shy of his 98th birthday, according to the Gallo family.

As Mozy walks in the bar something drops out of a file he is carrying not seeing it he goes down the trapdoor.

electromagnetic radiation from an explosion (especially a nuclear explosion) or an intensely fluctuating magnetic field caused by Compton-recoil electrons and photoelectrons from photons scattered in the materials of the electronic or explosive device or in a surrounding medium. The resulting electric and magnetic fields may couple with electrical/electronic systems to produce damaging current and voltage surges. See Electromagnetic bomb for details on the damages resulting to electronic devices. The effects are usually not noticeable beyond the blast radius unless the device is nuclear or specifically designed to produce an electromagnetic shockwave.
A broadband, high-intensity, short-duration burst of electromagnetic energy.
In the case of a nuclear detonation or an asteroid impact, the electromagnetic pulse consists of a continuous frequency spectrum. Most of the energy is distributed throughout the lower frequencies between 3 Hz and 30 kHz. [1]
In works of fiction, EMP has made many appearances, particularly in science fiction. In the cyberpunk sub-genre, EMP is often portrayed as a superweapon that distorts social order by destroying technological artifacts central to a society, or as a potent weapon against mechanical or robotic enemies.
