Hmmm...cool...the place is empty. In that case, I'll help myself to a banana daquiri! And while I'm at it...
**Monkeypoo opens up magical mojo bag, pulls out smudge stick, lights it with her new blow torch and proceeds to wander about the eplaya...the smell of burning pine, sage and cedar fill the air, banishing the bad energy and negative vibes**
Be gone! So mote it be!

Hiya Z!
I'm waiting for my mom so we can go to Maynerds. She has "projects" for me.....yay.
All dressed up and waiting to go. Think I'll buy some conduit for my dome while we're there.

So the theme this year is like a giant camp out in the desert? With people bringing lots of shit from all over? uh.. -Marscrumbs

**Monkeypoo comes in, guzzles a big drink of banana daquiri, exhales deeply, and flops her monkeybutt down on barstool**
Whew. Banishing bad energy is tough work. Monkeypoo has been busy. Went through at least 7 smudge sticks. 7 is a good number. Now I'm ready for a rest. Shelters, eh? Oy-vay. Mine was a nightmare last year. Blew down 2 times. Damn near blew away at one point. I'm either investingin or creating a dome or one of those car port thingies or I'm taking an RV next time.

**Busting up laughing**Martiansky wrote:What kind of shelter did you have that blew down, Donita?
I am almost embarrassed to say! I mean, it was pathetic. Now, mind you, 2003 wasn't a bad year (IMO) for bad winds. So, somebody gave me one of those $29.95 patio covers for 2004. Mom and I set it up first thing. The 4 skinny aluminum poles that came with it may have well been toothpicks, for all they were worth. During the night when the big winds came, it snapped. A bicycle fell on top of me in my tent. The next morning in Center Camp I found a friend from last year, happened to mention our shelter, and he said for me to come by and get some plastic tubes. We fixed the shelter again and my camping neighbor let us tie our ropes to his sturdy car port shelter. But all week long I was fixing ropes. Never again. Bleh.

Cool. Then I want Johnny Walker Blue LabelDonita wrote:Name your poison, Sputnik. The bar is stocked and ready for a party. By the way, you're in Detroit? I was there about 4.5 years ago. I have relatives in Brooklyn and up near Mackinac Island. Nice place, that Grand Hotel.
We've spent way too much money over the years at that hotel.
Here ya go. Here's to Saturdays!!
I fell in love with the Grand Hotel and the island when the movie "Somewhere In Time" came out. Never thought in a bazillion years I'd actually have the chance to go there, but I did. A dream come true. It gives me goosebumpies thinking about it. Truly amazing, it is.

Quite a different way to spend a vacation. I remember the first time I went there and we walked into the dining room and I thought I had stepped into 1950. All the waiters were black and all thee guests were white. I know now that these waiters are professionals from Jamaica, and the clientele has diversified too, but that was a shock. I hear that this year new visa rules are making it hard for tourist areas to hire foreign nationals to fill summer jobs, so the Grand had to plan to open early in order to satisfy the visa rules. I think they are opening in March, which is 2 months early.

Oooh, don't put yerself in a position to be poo-pooed on by the Logic Police. Yikes!
I think a toasty warm Peppermint Annie (guinie, I need you! I forget, does that have whipped cream?) Oh whatever, extra extra whipped cream! That's what I want.
I thought of you all today as I wove my shaman webs! Here, an EXTRA BIG one for hte bar, maybe to catch some of these bad dreams floating around here.
{hangs a large dreamcatcher above the bar, obviously handmade and unmistakable in its Intention of promoting a peaceful easy feeling; waxed sinew web woven around twisted grapevine wreath, dotted with white wooden beads like dew, and a turkey feather totem dangling from below.}
