Ask people who work for these companies how they are treated.
Even for first time truck jobs, it will vary.

mylarry was hired by wal-mart as a dock worker, went through eight hours of training and took a better job as a shuttle driver the next day. Never got paid for his one day, bastards. Still has the cute badge though.

Now he drives truck. He likes it, but he's weird. Not only do the trucking companies vary, but if you get a dipshit dispatcher, your life will be hell. If you get a good dispatcher, you may well love it.
