fuck....i just blew all street cred i had....dammit deb....
Simon, my sweet, you never had that kind of street cred, anyway. You have always done good things for others. You may look tough on the outside mister but you are such a marshmallow of sweetness! Tough guys are often the softest on the inside.

And yes, the painting is making the rounds. Right now, it's on display at the Blue Moon Tavern in Seattle where Caleb tended bar for three years. I'm sitting at the table where his election campaign team met in 2001 for his run for mayor! Also it seems that Vonnegut sat here too. And Ginsberg wrote his poetry here in the 60s. The more of Caleb's friends that I meet and the more stories I hear, then the better I understand him. I also hope he is at peace.

I'm also beginning to think that Caleb's calling us all a bunch of ass clowns for making a fuss over him. Nonetheless the painting has been a good part of the healing. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Met gyre, Shimbala, ygmir, sailman (and family), Rhino (although he's more from tribe), then I ran into my friends from Reno - OneEyedDick, Leggs, Risky, Pinegranny and TITWI. And Goathead was camped next door at Home Brew camp! Then I ran into little flower and Ugly Dougly as they sipped a brew with Goathead. Also met penguin and Neon.

Then Simon did me a huge, special favour by taking the nasty graffiti off Caleb's memorial sculpture! This graffiti was aimed at me not Caleb so it needed to be removed - if it was aimed at Caleb I would have considered it art and left it there.

Okay, then Simon did the best thing in the whole world - he found an artist among his camp mates who painted a huge picture of Caleb on a found board which I am carting home with me now. Absolutely the best gift ever. Simon is my new hero. Although ygmir is running a very, very close second with his gift of a piece of polished granite to replace my broken one which I use for pounding and carving leather gifts. Now I can make presents!

I met so many people I'm sure I've missed mentioning someone here but I have to say it really was a good burn for meeting people and sharing some joy and stories with.

I was blessed this year. Met lots and lots of people - some from eplaya and some from Tribe and many who aren't bothered with either but are great to meet in person.

Next year's list includes Artemis and Cryptofishist who I seemed to miss for playa timing reasons.
Second to Simon (purveyor of the finest musical instrument I've ever owned, or played), is fine with me............I'm very happy to have met you both, and, so many others......I can't/won't start a list, since, I'm sure I'd forget someone and even if it didn't bother them, it'd bother me for being so absent minded.......

I would say, that, without exception, I've enjoyed this eplaya, and the family it has become......
Like a family, we can bicker, snicker, liquor (lickher), quicker, than any group I know......

I only post on one board with any regularity, and, it's this one. The varied personalities, intellects, and dispositions make for a daily trip to "mental wonderland"............

Thank you all, met and not yet met......

Pinemom, I was just being playful. I hope I gave you one of my laser cut necklaces. If not, PM me your address and I'll mail it!

I also met so many of the people here. I even met Cryptofishist and AntiM! Thanks docPyro for hosting such a great party. I'm not sure if you realized it, but I brought the famous 84 year old Mama Lola with me to your gathering. She is a true legend at Burning Man and despite the fact that she was hooked to oxygen, she still made it to Barbie Death Camp.

I met a group of Colorado Burners who were returning home along with this bus. (The back window says "Project Mayhem" on it)

I know part of the group was from Aspen, some were from Rifle. They are the group that stopped to help me when my right rear tire blew out 3 miles into Colorado on I-70. I remember meeting Cat, but the other names escape me. If anyone knows this group and recognizes this bus, I'd like to make contact with them again. They are damn good people and I am grateful for the help they extended.

I was so happy to have met Zulegoona, Cryptofishist, TITWI, Pinemom, Risky, OregonRed, BoxBurner, NickCollide (and sons), ClarkCon, DocPyro, IBDave, OneEyedDick, and even DaMule.

I got to meet all kinds of cool folks at the booby bar, what a wonderful place. I mean what other bar can you say that you handled 10 various sets of balls? Oh, wait, I guess I could do that anywhere....

But seriously, one of the things that I really treasure about Burning Man is the way that we truly respect personal boundaries. Okay, loud sound aside, when it comes to touch people are amazing wonderful about checking in with each other before acting, setting clear guidelines and seeking permission. As someone who is still healing from trespassed boundaries decades ago, I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am for such a experience. The fact that it is part of our culture liberates me to feel more comfortable with new friends than I would be typically. It provides me with a safe opportunity to learn about myself and to practice communicating my needs. I'm still learning how to do this, so hopefully I haven't hurt any feelings.

Thanks to all for the hugs and wonderful company.

And a big heartfelt thanks and feeling of gratitude for my ebuddies here on eplaya. I feel a great sense of community from this board and am immensely grateful to each of you.

Thanks to Doc Pyro for hosting the meet'n'greet, and the good conversation for the better part of an hour, it was great getting to know you!

And I was thrilled to meet Ygmir, LittleFlower, Pinemom, Ugly Dougly, and I think also Big Blue Doggy, Sail Man, and IB Dave... sorry if I forgot to include anyone, or if I included anyone I'd only hoped to meet but missed (I may or may not have been drinking on the night in question). I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Jellyfish twice on separate occasions. There are more I really wanted to meet, but I arrived kinda latish. Thankfully there's still next year!

Having hung around here all these years, it was truly wonderful to meet so many of you in person for the first time. In some cases through strange "accidents" that could only happen on the Playa. Yeah, I saw amazing art, danced to amazing music, was awed at the man and temple burns, but spending time with you was the best part.

ygmir, you reminded me that I have forgotten names of some I met. MagicMarty is a real treasure and I met him at the Artery. Only wish I'd gotten over to his place for a promised foot massage and a little chat.

There's always next year.

Oh and I'm sure I met many others but who tend to be on Tribe more than here although Penguin and Neon, I think might visit here sometimes.

Cryptofishist - it scares me when I think about it too but I try not to dwell on it too much. After that incident I went to visit Simon and gave him all the low down - he fixed the graffiti proper like and I asked him to take on my anger at the two East Europeans who swiped the solar lights while I was sitting at the art piece. I don't think they will ever want to meet up with Simon. But more importantly, Simon turned the incident into art with Aydin's help.

Oh and now that I know about Simon's 2 foot bubble, I feel honoured to have received and given a couple of hugs.

Now I just need to catch Artemis. :D

YES, Crypto, this was my biggest disappointment. I was over at the Booby Bar on Tuesday evening but you had tucked in early, I think. Also dropped in on Friday afternoon but couldn't find you then either. Ah well, the suspense will make the reality even better next year.

I am happy to say, that among dozens of ePlayans, I got to meet Ms. Fishy. We sat and yacked for a while and then she got me into the famous (and exclusive) Booby Bar for drinks and socializing. I know what big effort it is for her to get to BRC, but all that effort seemed to be worthwhile for her!
Fishy baby---YOU ROCK!
