It was during a follow-up interview for a water plant engineering technician position that I was asked "If you were given a tool budget what tools would you purchase?"
My first reaction was to chuckle, because techs as a general rule just don't get 'tool budgets' (I have never had one before or since); you provide your own and keep good track of them.
Anywaaaaysss...they did not smile. So I got serious and started listing off the things I'd need: A good socket set, hand tools, test sets, etc. etc. It did not come off as a strong answer.
