Hmmmmm, I was thinking the same thing, curious...Simply Joel wrote:i am left with the impression, people saw what they wanted to see during the debate and came up with conclusions to support what they wanted.
simply an observation on my part.
And I'm still not leaning in either direction, dammitt. But then, choosing a candidate is our responsibility. An act that should not be easily manipulated or taken lightly. This isn't easy...
People, gather your own facts and come to your own conclusions. In other words, read, take an educated stance.
OK, I will stop.

Cheney / Edward's debate? Please. Edward's will trounce Chneney.
while Dick has the charisma of a dead garden slug, don't count him out. He's a very bright and wiley fella.
as per hearing what you want to hear. I did not see the debate, I listened to it on the radio (I am not into that moral absolutism shit; I have a tV). Kerry was never my candidate. I have no love for Bush. I will say I was embarassed for the guy. He just seemed so overwhelmed at time. At one point Bush's pause was so long as he tried to gather his thoughts that I chnaged stations thinking I had lost reception.
Feel free to have your opinions on the various policies and stances of either candidate or their repsective policies but to call that debate a victory for Bush is just disingenuous. Even the master himself, Rove, seemed at bit shaken.

Well, if that's true, that would indicate that %70-%80 of mainstream media viewers, and %39 of FauxNews watchers, were rooting for Kerry to win.Simply Joel wrote:i am left with the impression, people saw what they wanted to see during the debate and came up with conclusions to support what they wanted.

Like Stuart, I heard it on radio. Bush sounded BAD. Petulant, slow, and endlessly repetitive. I think he might have taken the "stay on message" method a bit too far this time. I think his worst moment was when he answered Kerry's proposals to improve homeland security (God, I hate that phrase) by saying they were too expensive.

You say that like it's a bad thing.Sensei wrote:The preceeding message was brought to you by an art car owner/operator who spent last night prancing around the BAR thread in a dress.
Blind partisanship is bad enough in and of itself. No need to drag fashion choices into it.

my parents vote for the deficient one, and somehow I still manage to love them.....I guess, I could find the space in my heart to love the Captain too.....I wonder if his wife thinks like him? I'm sure we would enjoy a drink together....

You're all gonna rip on me, and claim that your own stance is superior...
And that I'm morally inferior because I don't agree with your Democrat bias. Which I don't share. So have at it, I know I'm in the wrong house to favor Republicans here.

Now now Cap, no need to get defensive. Blanket statements like "No matter how much of a lameass dumbfuck he may be, Bush is better than any Democrat" (okay, I'm paraphrasing a bit) are just plain close minded. Let's try and judge folks as indivduals, shall we?Captain Goddammit wrote:You're all gonna rip on me, and claim that your own stance is superior...

If it makes you feel any better, I'd vote for McCain over a lameass Demo like Joe Lieberman any day.

I'm no Kerry fan, and while I think he's only slightly less dumb than Bush, (and that's really saying something, I'm amazed Bush can muster enough electrical power in his brain to keep his autonomous functions going, let alone talk and walk about, little wonder he's so [sarcasm]eloquent[/sarcasm]) jeezus fribbin poop on a cracker, how can anyone look at the dim light in Bush's eyes and think he's worthy or up to the job of leading America?
Especially when he's shown he's not by leading us into retarded wars like Iraq.
Here's how I keep explaining it to people to put it in really simple terms that they can relate to;
If you had an employee that was robbing you blind, making bad (or corrupt) decisions that would seriously undermine your business and sending your son to a bad neighborhood with instructions to kick in their doors, wouldn't you fire that guy no matter how bad his replacement might be? If only to send the message to your other employees that that kind of wanton dereliction of duty will not be tolerated?
Of course you would.
