The funny thing is, some of the best trolls are unintentional.Savannah wrote:I'm not sure there is a single person in this thread who doesn't actually know the truth.Captain Goddammit wrote:Of course, maybe I'm the fool here if the outrage post was part of the schtick too, in which case they are REALLY doing it right!!
There might be, but . . . probably not.
A really good troll would establish rapport and build trust before attempting to rile.
(When I start trolling, it will truly be the Long Con of Long Cons.)
Most of you who know me know that I have never trolled, and for that matter I'm rarely even snarky,
Recently while heavily inebriated, I was invited to a local camp envy group trying to put together a burn on FB. Within seconds of joining the group I went on a tirade about they should postpone their burn because those of us at the big burn wouldn't be able to attend.
I was oblivious to the friends calling me a troll, and all the other negative comments. I argued my point for almost an hour, I woke up the following morning with my wife asking what I had done to piss off the entire internet this time.
Of course I am not proud of this, but in hindsight it must have been pretty damn funny.
