When Jerri called, she informed me what was going to happen today -- did not ask or discuss. She took charge of me. I'm sure glad she and Peter met.

Elliot I can't thank you enough for posting openly about your feelings. I'm both thankful because now you have a HUGE support system of people who are aware and love you (and kidnap you, ha!) and also, selfishly thankful, because you expressed feelings I have felt that I could never have spoken so eloquently. I find--personally--that the emotions of the dream are a good place to start. Was the defeat of your father a triumphant thing, in the dream? Or not a triumph, but a relief?

"I won. He died." is an interesting choice of words. Maybe your father represents depression strictly for the duration of this dream (depression having practically its own life, at times) and you are acting out crushing your "opponent". But if your relationship with your father was adversarial in real life, maybe your psyche wants to defeat him and let go.

Hard to say, without knowing you better. What do you think?

Man, I keep thinking this thread is going to be about the band ST ... but this is some serious shit. I wish life wasn't so fucking serious sometimes.

It's Thanksgiving time in the US, and as much BS as that all might (and does) represent, I'm all about giving meaning to giving thanks and praises.

Today, I am thankful to read about people that care about other people right here on ePlaya. That is some really cool shit! Serious shit, too ... so maybe the seriousness isn't all bad.

I get so conflicted, too. I feel the love. But, do you all feel the love? I hope so ... it can be so awesome. Seriously

So, on the eve of Thanksgiving, I am thankful that Maryanimal started this very thoughtful thread. I don't think she realizes how many people she helped here with her kindness.

I know there are some that are teetering during the holidays (God knows I hate them), but as long as there is a place people can vent and friends can communicate with them, then things will work out fine.

I got such an awesome family here and on playa AND in RL as well.

That even tho things are the shits there are still bright things that make me happy and keep on going!

That electrolux showed up hoover in the 14th annual BRC "beat the shit out of your ol' man" competition... 4 to 3. (Yeah, interesting dream - both the circumstance and the way you describe it are clues to its meaning... )

Hel, I'm even thankful for Larry and Andie and Mike and MG and all you guys, and hell, even the guy who loaded "Exploding man", Kim, and intro'd me to the Man over a decade ago... Love y'all.

As for the dream, I think you just did battle with your old self with the one tool known for removing garbage from your life and allowing you to breathe more easily. Seems like a good omen to me that you actually won!
