In addition to being able to Edit posts at anytime now, can anyone DELETE their posts?

Selectively, it popped up maybe 3-4 times since the change. I couldn't pinpoint whether it was forum or thread specific, I know once it popped up when I posted twice on the same thread in succession. In fact, let me try that now.

Nope, that's not it, all I can do is Edit, Quote, or Report.


I have been tempted a couple of times to "report" after reading something I've, evidently, posted (I mean after Ive finished cringing). It's not easy being us.

I looked to see if anyone else had mentioned this butt... it seems that yesterday I looked at the top of the page and the old options, "view watched topics" and those other clickable links at top center which are now gone so I can't list them very well. I guess to start at the beginning, today with the new board I have nothing but flames between where it says Burning Man and the search block at the top of the page. But yesterday the options that used to be avalable were there for a short period of time.

Anyone else?

just learned something this morning. usually I click on 'view un read posts' but now so many of them are about tickets that I don't want to see.

fix: go to tickets forum, click 'mark forums read' then back on main index page, 'view unread posts' shows a list of all but the tickets...YEAH!!

I do that when I'm done reading everything I want to read in the main Board Index page for all the forums. Don't know why it never clicked that I might be able to do it for just individual forums.

As someone else mentioned somewhere...try using google and include "eplaya" with whatever you are searching for. Seems to work quite well.

I have yet to see a PHP BBS with decent searchability. My guess is it's a design flaw of PHP-BBS. On that nebulous to-do list of things for after the playa, I'd like to look into improving/replacing it.

That's an awfully ambitious goal. I'd suggest taking care of all the basic things that need fixing from the upgrade first, like spam filtering and making the colors and font more conducive to easy reading and moving the avatars to the left side of the page. Just because we have endured these things so long that we have gotten used to them, doesn't mean they don't need fixing. They are a constant annoyance. Only then would I even dream about fixing search.
