True dat, was a home a week before I tackled it in earnest. At this stage, two weeks from playa, I'm waiting for the tent and sleeping bag to dry and then I bag the few things left, shed them and get to see my garage floor again.

TPBM plans on a major upgrade to equipment for the next burn.

I don't believe that I ever started.

TPBM is debating using a playa outfit for Halloween this year or creating a new Halloween costume which will become a playa outfit next year.

Oh I've been waiting for the moment that I can sport the 1,440 LED lightsuit in public on Halloween downtown since before BM. If the reaction at BM was crazy, I can't even imagine in downtown Orlando!

TPBM is going crazy sitting in front of the computer screen and can barely take it anymore..

Didn't have any left. If I bring liquor to drink, I drink it!

I didn't bring any but all the Cannucks camping with us kept us well supplied. In fact, we brought home about a case each of MGD and horse piss/Bud.

Yes, but I prefer hard cider or vodka based drinks over both.

I do. But I don't drink much anywhere. When I was in my 20s and trying to go to nightclubs and all that, I never drank much, because I worried about my safety. I probably missed out on all sorts of adventures.
TPBM had all my adventures in his or her 20s, dammit!

I'm currently reading a biography of WC Fields by Robt Lewis Taylor. It's fantastic! Thank you for mentioning it.

Thanks to Fishy I have a short stack of history books to go through that should keep me busy for at least 6 weeks. I don't really do lists, too limiting at the book store!

Nope - sometimes I'll hunt down the book after I've seen the movie. I do this frequently, and it's often a charming representation with artistic license and greatly truncated. In one case I read the book at the same time as watching the movie - that was a long weekend of andromeda strain.
tpbm feels guilty sometimes about not reading all the books that they'd like to because of life interruptions.

I made off with as many of my childhood books as possible the last time I visited my father's house. Alas, no Struwwelpeter, but among the favorites are Harriet the Spy, the Little House books, a lot of Beatrix Potter, Little Women, Little Men, Richard Scarry books, Liza Lou and the Yeller Belly Swamp, A Little Princess, scads of fairy tales including The Brothers Grimm, Tatterhood (delightfully feminist) and ones from Africa (Mom tried to be so balanced) and about a million Agatha Christie Novels. And a really amazing book called Mrs. Twiggly's Tree, which is perfect for ages 3-6, with beautiful illustrations . . . and it's all about radical inclusion. It reminds me very much of the Tips for Shy People thread. :)

The person below me danced around to strange vinyl records as a child, thanks to the tastes of parents or siblings.

My dad raised me on Dixieland jazz, swing and classical music, my mom got me interested in 1940's pop. I would hardly ever listen to then current music when I was a kid (and I'm still dieing inside- my dad forgot I wanted his collection & donated it :( )
