No one is here so it's the perfect time to post news about an event at BM that is important to me. The timing of it is not of my choosing and I will miss the Tribe Meet&Greet as a result but this is obviously more important.
A memorial for Caleb Schaber will be held at Rue Morgue on Thursday evening from 6PM - 7PM. Rue Morgue is a place of healing on the playa and they often host memorials. Caleb was close to some of the members of that camp so they wanted to host it.
Prior to 6PM on Thursday, anyone who wants to create a remembrance for Caleb can go to Rue Morgue in the 9:00 plaza to fold origami cranes which are burned in a coffin in the Temple Burn. Some will also be burned on Thursday evening.
Thanks for listening,
Deb

Please take one, ygmir. There's lots.
Got bad news last night but I will hold off on sharing just now. Good news is the memorial will go ahead.
But I have an exciting day planned. I'm going to Toronto on the train in an hour or so to meet up with some burners for dinner and a concert of the National Youth Orchestra. And they are doing one of my favourite symphonies - Mahler's 6th.
Hope everyone has plans for the day - time to get busy packing!

Oh...huh...HERE!
Thanks Deb!
Yeah, that Thursday...it turning into the new Friday!!!!
EEEK!
Hi ya'll.
Cant explaine why there is still heart ache about this bar...it is NOT THE Booby Bar! And in no way trying to be. Its just a technical shortcut to what we all wanna do...chat faster!
Oh well, some peeps just cant let go,even if they dont have to give up the past.
To shae...onward and upward forward motions only...cant go back and you cant change the past!
All you can do is LEARN from it!
There is a time at some point when you must understand the difference between gazing upon the past and smiling in reflection and actually living in IT!
So Today, I feel great!!!!
The weather is nice and cool, so no over heating! YAY!!!!!!!
The lights FINALLY have arrived from HKong...heheheee and today...they find their forever home on the PF!
Thanks Deb!

Anything a doctor thinks is psychological without proving it, don't listen.pinemom wrote:well, actually I originally thought I'd burned my retinaes with some flashy thing on the pc...nope.
It started with my vision just getting strange kinda like heat motion above hot asfault...then I got a half simi circle with flashing back and white almost tribal looking thingsin both eyes.
Couldnt see on the left hand side in either eye. that only lasted about 30 minutes. I couldnt find my big words.(little confusion= irritated)
Lost my depth perception. Big steps in no step area and things in the mirror appear farther away then they really are type perception issue.
When we arrived at the emergency room I started getting trembles in my left arm, but doc's are contributing that to nervousness.
Im ok. Really I am. I dont feel any different today then I did day before yesturday.
But Im also a little wiser now.
I went into the er with total loss of speech and numbness and tingling in my right arm, etc a month after being in there for a crash.
Diagnosis- tired
Dr. Thane Duncan, quack- diagnosed persistent head pain as seeking unnecessary surgery.
Advised psychiatric care.
Real diagnosis- dying from a subdural hematoma of over two months bleeding. Treatment immediate surgery.
If I'd listened to Thane Duncan, I'd be dead or on a tube somewhere.

that is very prescient advice, Gyre:
in my business (making tombstones), I hear over and over again how folks wished they had advocated for themselves, or loved ones, and, asked for another opinion.......
Sometimes, it's clear cut and, yes, you're just better, and, move on.
somtimes, you get lucky.
sometimes, you don't.......
I hear about "you don't" a lot........
we are all fortunate you got treated and are here to lend you wit and wisdom to the eplaya family.
I hope the same for all.
(wow, am I philosophical today?)

Wow...Eplaya is dead pan slow today!
Yes, Gyre, I am following up with a Neurologist anyway!
because both issues are possibilities. I need a expert to read the test results and make a educated diagnosis.
Its sad in lots of ways...Emergency doctors are really starting to seem like Med school flunkies or at least D-' students?
Unfortunately, the only side effect I have gotten from Wednesdays fun trip is headaches.
Yes Ive had a headache or two...but now seems Im getting them daily, at some point.
They gave me Darvocet for them, but I only take an advil to chase them away.
Thats way to heavy a drug to be flinging down my throat everytime I get a ouchy.
Tonight is a test run on PF!
Updated all the list from years before. New camper...made some lists totally different.
Im so excited I think Im gonna puke!
"no really"
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Hey everyone. Hope you're all healthy today. Gyre that was quite a tale of woe - glad you got it sorted out. Pinemom, hope all goes smooth with your tests and stuff with the neurologist.
You must all be busy today. Just came back from Toronto. Great dinner out, met more burners.
The National Youth Orchestra of Canada nailed Mahler's 6th like no orchestra has. Honestly it was dynamite and the crowd jumped to its feet! If this is the future of orchestral music we are in for a real treat. They also did a world premiere of young Rob Teehan's Dream of Flying composition - what a creative generation of young people. And the concert was being taped by our CBC radio so should be on the schedule soon.
Littleflower, I'll send you a message when it shows up in the radio schedule, since you can get CBC on the internet.
Hey Pinemom how did Playa Frog's test run go?
Ygmir, that sounds like a good project that you have going.
We're going to have to get some kind of net to capture Goathead before he bounces out of the bar!
Okay, time to get focused on gifts for the playa. On Monday it will be 2 weeks til I depart. Busy, busy.
