Morning Bar.

No catman I didn't lose power. I had some branches heavy with snow resting on a power line that goes to the back of my house in my backyard. I used my big extending painters pole to knock some of the snow off. I think that helped. Did have a huge 20 foot branch come down from one of the trees and several small ones too.

It was eerie hearing branches crack and drop in the neighborhood in the otherwise silent night/early morning. We've got another storm rolling in Sunday night.

Pro tip- don't stand directly underneath branches when knocking snow off. Brrrrrrrr

Morning pals. I'm a bit hung over. We had a 'Ronda fight party' last night. The several thousand Aussies Booed the fights. They expected a boxing match and not a wrestling match? The fights were great. To drown our sorrows of Ronda losing we drank shots and played that irreverent card game. Today my head aches.

Yep, it is safely home.
I had to cut some of the rope-bindings and other small ropes to separate it into three parts -- fuselage with tail, and two wings. This way it fits easily in Millicent.

It had never been apart before. It was built for the Willits Karnivale event and displayed there two years, I was told. It was hand-carried there all assembled (just a couple blocks). I will modify it slightly so it can be routinely separated and reassembled.

And it has some damage, but nothing I cannot fix.

It came from a Maker Space in Willits. They are not getting enough people, so they are closing. Everything must be out of there by tomorrow. This thing was in immediate danger of going to the dump. So I got it for the cost of 140 miles worth of diesel fuel.

They have been trying to sell it for a month -- first for $500 and then $100 on Craigslist. I learned of it yesterday from the North Bay Burners Regional e-newsletter.

I was told it can carry only 15 or 20 pounds, but I don't want to risk turning it into kindling anyway. So I reckon it will be a static display in Elliot's Naked Bicycle Repair, Piano Bar & Flying Service.

The builder wasn't there, but I shall catch up with him. If nothing else, I want to give him proper credit when we display this thing.

That's absolutely Beautiful, Elliot! I'm so glad you were able to save it from certain doom!

Guessing you'll have to tether it well against the winds on the Playa... remembering when the scaffolding got lifted in '12, just before you were able to get them firmly anchored to the planet.

Will you have it atop Millicent?

Haven't even begun to think of how to display it. But not open to the wind, for sure. It really ought to have its own tent, methinks. Plenty time to plan.
