OH dear. My grandfather was in that war...

And it is Armistice Day this week...

TPBM is making deep winter celebrations gifts this year.

I do not give nor do I accept any sort of mandatory "gift"; not Xmas or Chanukah or birthdays or anniversaries or housewarming or weddings... (hence my loathing of the abuse of "gifting" at the event). A gift is something freely given to someone it makes you think of, not something given when you're told to.
ooooh, that came out cranky.

tpbm has trained their friends to understand at least some of their quirks...

Guilty as charged.

I'm also concerned that many of the Occupy camps are becoming too focused on "the camp" rather than WHY they are protesting.

TPBM knows more about electricity than they let on...

If I do, I've fooled myself completely.
TPBM knows that I don't have issues with Eric's gifting position.

Edited to add: And thinks "gifting position" sounds a little sexually suggestive.

Sorry, but I have no flame throwing tutorial. Ask foxfur, oneeyeddick and Espresso Dude.
The person below me knows this isn't a game with winners and losers, it's a game where everyone (we hope) has fun, and that the more people, and the less winning and losing, the better it is.

Still a little full from breakfast. I do want coffee, but can't go out to get some--phones until 11.

TPBM couldn't choose between the New York Dolls and the Dresdan Dolls, and eventually went with Dolly Parton.

Not if Killer Kane is part of the deal, but truth be told I'd take any Johnny Thunders/Walter Lure line up over even the old NY Dolls. What can I say? I have a soft spot for junkies and I can always do without the Syl kitschyness factor. As for what passes as the Dolls nowadays the best I can say is that Steve Conti has mad axe skillz.

TPBM thinks gg allin boots lack the "impact" without the visuals.

All I remember is my dreary college boyfriend ranting about how gg allin's suicide was totally overlooked because it happened on the same day that John Lennon was killed.

TPBM also has painful memories of the musical opinions of a sub-par ex partner.

My last roomies before The Boyfriend had a thing for "Like a Virgin" era Madonna- while it was still current (it was a long time ago). My stereo was in the living room so I had to fight 3 of them to play Cabaret Voltaire or Throbbing Gristle. It was an interesting match...

No, I generally call the vets in my life- my parents & my Uncle Don (all Korean War) and my wife (active duty, one tour of Iraq). Let them know what it means while they're alive.

tpbm wants to go back to sleeping in a pile of kittens.

I hate the name calling. However, I am poorly put together and resort to it more often than I like. I also have my doubts that certain conversations do anything but make everyone cling to their position that much harder.

Good pizza, maybe. I think that the ravioli isn't clotting my arteries quite as fast.

TPBM is waiting for artery-cleansing nanobots, so an orgy of italian food can be indulged in.

With a passion. Good lord. Homemade baked mac n cheese and ribs and potato salad and sweet tea. Fuck me running. Although.. my nasty gut left over from eating like that all summer says that it's time to get back on the plan. *sigh* Just got done doing arms and shoulders, now it's abs time. Ugh.
