Yes Lucky the boys are funny and confusing thank goodness

So, the time at Death Valley was awesome
Although I have been there before it is different each time
(the burners of course a new part)
terrain so far below sea level
critters hidden ..stay still and be with them (I looked for the feral burros)
but the winds were fierce and I enjoyed learning from the ravens who play and swoop
until my hobbitat 4 tent fell over.. one pole broke , another bent
It had survived 2 burns !!!

So REI is next.
Any suggestions ?

Rolled in (home) after 1am (midnight, Reno time) after a smooth drive from Reno. Left Reno before noon. (LOVE my new tires!!)

It was so wonderful to see so many happy people having fun at the Amtrakathon! Thanks, Doc... you did it again!
I suppose it could be said that the weather sucked, but for me, a bit of snow is nostalgic.

Eric's Bootie Mashup was AMAZING!! Gave me a whole new perspective on DJs. I almost didn't go in, but so glad I did... didn't want to leave!

Elorrum (the perfect hostess) and I almost got to Lake Tahoe for a bit of a visit, until the snow got a bit too thick. Next time....
Ratty's roadkill and other mutant stuffed characters are ...um... "curious"... I adopted two, of which Delle will get one in the mail. Most memorable is all the precious time spent with Elorrum, Ratty, Lucky and Sadie Jane, MGB327, Ygmir, looney tunes and more.

The more I visit Reno, the more I like it.

Morning Good people. *stomps snow off boots into the floor heater for a burst of steam* Yes the Amtrakathon was great fun. Amtrak has spacious seats with leg room for miles. The party night was perfect. Patsh, 'thanks for holding my hair'. (I'm a lightweight when it comes to drinking.) It was great touring the Morris Hotel. So beautifully decorated and reasonably priced to stay there. Shopping around with 'Betty?' was fun. Next year we'll go to more burner stores. Even the bus ride home was fun. I heard doc talking about the FB Amtrakathon page but I can't even find it.

Anyway I'll just have a nip of this Pernod. (The ouzo kind. Not the absinth kind.)

Yes, Aurelia, ticket information (dates, prices, etc) were announced yesterday. It's been posted here, on the blog, on the ticket page, in the newsletter, and also probably on Facebook and Twitter and a few other corners of the internet.

In other news, huge congrats to ePlaya's very own Osc!!! His awesome light chimes installation went up in Reno recently, and was mentioned in yesterday's Jack Rabbit Speaks. I hope we can get out to Reno and see it while it's there, or maybe someday on the playa or SF or someplace

Thanks for the kind remembrances. My youngest daughter is taking her old man to Vienna for a week on Feb 20. She teaches all over the world on GeoChemistry issues. Vienna is her next stop. She gets back from Algeria tomorrow. All that and the mother of an 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter and a wife who is a Biologist. We'll get to an opera and the Vienna Phil while there. Proud papa talking here!
