Heard a song lyric last week that reminded me of you:
"Return of the Grievous Angel"
Gram Parsons & Thomas O. Brown
Wont you scratch my itch sweet annie rich
And welcome me back to town
Come out on your porch or Ill step into your parlour
And Ill tell you how it all went down
Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels
And a good saloon in every single town
And I remember something that you once told me
And Ill be damned if it did not come true
Twenty thousand roads I went down, down, down
And they all lead me straight back home to you
We flew straight across that river bridge,
Last night half past two
The switchman waved his lantern goodbye and good day as we
Went rolling through
Billboards and truckstops pass by the grievous angel
And now i know just what I have to do
Cause I headed west to grow up with the country
Across those prairies with those waves of grain
And I saw my devil, and I saw my deep blue sea
And I thought about a calico bonnet from cheyenne to tennessee
The news I could bring I met up with the king
On his head an amphetamine crown
He talked about unbuckling that old Bible belt
And headed out for some desert town
Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels
And a good saloon in every single town
And I remember something that you once told me
And Ill be damned if it did not come true
Twenty thousand roads I went down down down
And they all lead me straight back home to you
Twenty thousand roads I went down down down
And they all lead me straight back home to you
...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...

A very solid point there, Noir. I'm a big Soma fan and I understand they have brought their amazing playlist and broadcast it in BRC years past.
It's hard enough running something that good on nothing but listener donations, I can just see the record companies and corporate whores rubbing their legs together trying to sew it up in to monopolies, then we end up with the same schlock programming that now dominates FM radio.
I'll call my senators today. That link you provided allows you to get your respective senator's phone numbers just by entering your zip code.

The sweet sweet sound of a nice steady heavy rain. We have been really dry down here as of late. The smoke from the fires all over blocked out the stars which sucked ass. I'm going to stand in the rain tonight and enjoy the stars and sliver of moon.

Rising Gael's seven song debut c.d.: "Rising Gael". Celtic music from high school and college age folks I saw at a local Ren. Faire. I want to buy their longer second album.

Loreena McKennitt-
Parallel Dreams
and
The Mask and Mirror...especially this song...over and over...
"Cé hé mise le ulaingt? / The two trees"
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart,
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start,
And al the trembling flowers they bear.
The changing colours of its fruit
Have dowered the stars with merry light;
The surety of its hidden root
Has planted quiet in the night;
The shaking of its leafy head
Has given the waves their melody,
And made my lips and music wed,
Murmuring a wizard song for thee.
There the Loves a circle go,
The flaming circle of our days,
Gyring, spiring to and fro
In those great ignorant leafy ways;
Remembering all that shaken hair
And how the winged sandals dart,
Thine eyes grow full of tender care;
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart.
Gaze no more in the bitter glass
The demons, with their subtle guile,
Lift up before us when they pass,
Or only gaze a little while;
For there a fatal image grows
That the stormy night receives,
Roots half hidden under snows,
Broken boughs and blackened leaves.
For all things turn to barenness
In the dim glass the demons hold,
The glass of outer weariness,
Made when God slept in times of old.
There, through the broken branches, go
The ravens of unresting thought;
Flying, crying, to and fro,
Cruel claw and hungry throat,
Or else they stand and stiff the wind,
And shake their ragged wings: alas!
Thy tender eyes grow all unkind:
Gaze no more in the bitter glass.
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start,
And all the trembling flowers they bear.
Remembering all that shaken hair
And how the winged sandals dart,
Thine eyes grow full of tender care:
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart.
