Can I use that as a handle when GP&E woos me away from ESD? This is not technically possible, but I have no problem volunteering for two departments.ygmir wrote:

In truth, I'm probably going to adopt the playa name of Junglesmack's late grandmother's cat (Honey Precious Baby DAMMIT!) but actually I'm pretty sure I'm taking that ride-along.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
hi guys *grabs coffee from ECM* today is the start of looking for a job again, and how its changed since the old days of papers and going to the dole office, i applied for 2 jobs yesterday (sunday) online. i think applying for jobs sat in my pj's has a certain.... decadence about it.
so sipping coffee from my dusty swan mug (it seems that one in our monkey hut wasn't mine MDF - wonder whose it was?) and looking for jobs in the warm, about 3/4 inches of snow outside. hoping i can talk the JobCenter (hefore JC) into sending me on a locksmith course.
Also as is obviouse because we all do a lot of the time thinking about BM.
oh yes i found frieball whisky in a local shop, so if i get a bit TOO down about finances and shit i can have a sip of atomic fireball and remember 2011 the perfect year for weather and finding new things to be happy about.
have fun y'all

Mmm, coffee. I've actually been awake for hours. Bam awake just after three. Horrible feeling of dread at four nineteen. Just awful for a few minutes. So I've been ghosting around the forums, soaking up the burnerisms, trying to shake the middle of the night spooks.
Made cocnut-buckwheat pancakes with ginger syrup. Yummmers.

.
I have a secret little journal of fears. I write 'em all down. Then when you look at the journal in the morning, you can make a better judgment if the fear is something to act on.
Usually its just ghosts of insecurity and self-loathing.
Sometimes I get a good idea that way, tho.
The worst dreads are fear for my daughter. Thank Steve Jobs for the relief from that. We both have iphones, so when I look up her text messages, I can see a (...) balloon, which means she is texting someone else - and she's alive.
When I have the dreads with jitters, and can't lie down, I usually make a cup of Sleepytime tea.
Let GOOD win!

This was just a blanket feeling that something somewhere in the world was wrong.
If it is after three and I can't go back to sleep, I just get up. I've never been able to sleep in, but it is getting worse in the last few years. Might be an age thing.

It seems we need to repeat that whatever yummy we eat here, taste as you wish, is gluten free if you wish and give as many calories as you wish...it is only up to you.

I concur, though I don't smoke.
But, sitting here, watching the pageantry of the presidential swearing in, I can't help be proud of where I live.
yup, we yell and scream, jab and poke, have intrinsic mistrust and at times, hatred.
Yet, the reigns of, arguably, the greatest power in world history, move, or get re-set, and we move on.
Not that it detracts from my basic mistrust of gov. in general, but it helps me see, still, we're humans.

Yes Yggy, so well said !
although Iwanted to not say anything after I read about the sleep issues
you have given me courage
there is a cog -like thing that happens with your brain
which if you ignore the wakeup and simply empty your mind to return to sleep will adjust
otherwise you tend to program the wakeup in to reoccur
and then of course you have a personal alarm clock
try it and after a short while uninterrupted sleep will be possible
xoA.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Sometimes when I wake up with a really vivid (good) dream, I can sometimes make myself go back to sleep and continue with the same dream. I only sleep about 4 hours a day. Sometimes I stay up for 3 or 4 days just cuz I don't want to miss anything lolz. Yep YG, lived all over the world but there is no better place then the US. I don't care if you are a dem or a (fucking
republican. Let's all try and give Obama a chance to make this country better. Just saying ... cr****

I'm watching the Inauguration .....
I'll go with what they just quoted on tv. "Find the good and praise it." That sounds so easy. It's too bad a lot of people don't follow the saying. It's sometimes easy to put down people, look at their mistakes, look for anything wrong that isn't perfect. Just go with the diametrically-opposed and look for the positive and good in people and situations. It's easy to be happy if you don't have to think about it. Just let it happen... Sorry for the ramble.... cr****

Same time next morning; a flock of the same orange-chested birds are flitting vigorously about and having champagne breakfast on unpicked grapes right where the injured bird was yesterday. Suddenly I no longer feel guilty over letting those grapes go to waste. No sign of Cat.
Anybody know what brand of bird this is, with the whole chest-and-belly a warm orange? (picture posted yesterday)
