speakign of projects... it would be a good day to take RAM from one machine and install it in another.

RAM (Random Access Memory) I found that the older the machine ram type is... the more it cost. More money than RAM we get for new machines. They really push to get you to update your shit. that is where I am now.. just a bunch of old shit. still works but old shit.

Well that was lovely but unsanitary.
*fishy scrubs coffee pot with soap and hot water and brews another pot*

my computer needs/requirements border on pre-historic.

getting the youngest a computer for the holidays.... with hopes for improved grades...

i am still hoping for abonus from work which will finance the electrical service to the house. once done, i can start doing bisque firings...

hmmmm, maybe a grant from the BRC LLC?

bisque firings! thats cool! I did some bisque firings in high school. I have a friend that has a class shop. just got a new unit to batch 60 pounds of glass at a time. He does paper weights and some big glass art. uses his kiln for glass slumping... making bowls and plates. My dance floor partner in the bay has over a 1000 recipes for glazes. His kiln is gas powered and big enough to walk into. I love to work in both mediums.

very cool joel!

mozy makes a drink and sits by the fire. Pokes at fire with a stick.

Cafe Royal Frappe
2 oz cognac
3 oz cold black coffee
Mix and pour into a double-cocktail glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a cherry and serve with short straws

theCryptofishist>Hoping to get a new kiln next year...

hope you get one soon. my friend wants to try to do glass at BM. But it would be hard to pull off. He has a small crucible furnace that runs off 110 volts but would need power for that and the glory hole and a annealing oven. It would end up being a big power draw to pull it off.

That's why I was so impressed with the glass blowers in 2004. HEck, I'm even impressed with Whistleworks and thier clay work on playa--how do they have time to dry it properly?

really in 2004. I don't know if I should tell him. he wanted to be the first.

fishy>how do they have time to dry it properly? They must be small pieces that they do.

I was thinking I might do a small charm out of clay for my gift at BM my first year. it would be easy and I could make a ton of them.

Gawd, I'm lovin' this!!

Why not hust run the annealing oven off the 110 (since that's where the temp is most critical) and build a glass fired Kiln and Glory Hole?

Now you got *me* thinking.

Stuck at work... what is the beverage di notte?

hey sue
how about
Fuquay Friday Night
2 shots Absolut® Kurant vodka
2 shots Sprite® soda
2 tbsp grenadine syrup
1 shot cherry cola

Add absolut kurant and sprite to a cocktail glass. Mix in the grenadine syrup, and add the cherry cola. Serve. Add a dash of lime for a slightly different taste.

In for a nightcap. Soon enough it will be time for an eye-opener, but that bridge will be crossed later. We're promised some snow here tomorrow. Yowzah! 'tis the season. That chair by the fire feels comfy. [adds a log, sips]. BTW, Mozy and Joel - I had to give up on my old computer recently, but I got some relatively new "old" RAM out of it. If you're interested, I can PM you with the specs. You're welcome to it free if it will be useful. Hate to throw it out. Yaaaawwwwn. Good night all.
