Fuck...I'm sorry I ran off and didn't let y'all know about the resolution of the rent thing - I'd managed to completely fucking forget that the husband gets paid on Friday, and we can get the late fees to her then. That's a fucking relief.
HOWEVER.
I think I've got bronchitis again, goddamnit. Barking, "productive" cough (ewwww), swollen lymph nodes, rattle in my chest when I breathe deeply - and oh, yes, a 101.6 fever (38.7C).
So much for my fucking temp assignment.
(I'm trying to take some small comfort in the fact that in the two days I did work, I made almost as much money as I would have gotten for an entire week of unemployment, but still...the idea of working is to get OUT of fucking debt, right?)

Fuck. One of my new guys walked out in the middle of his shift yesterday without telling anyone- he left a note for us to find. He's been bummed out lately over his girlfriend, so fuck for him, and he's left us in a big lurch right at the start of our busy season, so fuck for us.
I'm still a little flabbergasted to tell you the truth. Who does that?! Don't you at least talk to the people you work with about it? He was a driver, so it's not like we can get along without him easily- so that means I get to do the deliveries instead of the kajillion other things I do, and I get to spend the next month training a new driver. I thought my to-do list for Feb. was full, but I guess it wasn't.

Oh here's another one. It was fucking raining up at the hill Tuesday. When the fuck does it rain in Canada in the middle of January? (except the coast) It's supposed to get up to +6 C today. What. the. fuck. It's the middle of winter. Fucking global warming. It should be called global weather freak out or something, since a week ago we were having our coldest temps in years.

The weather is fucked. There was a mudslide in Vancouver and a woman was killed, a couple homes destroyed. People on evac all over the place from hill instabilities, ice jams, flooding. Raw sewage is dumping into the rivers in Van because the sewers can't deal with all the rain, watermains are breaking. Highways all over the province were closed yesterday- lots of covered in ice. Very very high avalanche warnings for everywhere. Rain on all the ski hills.
What is going on?! It's spring here. In January. This kind of weather freaks me out because it's so not right.

Fuck! I gotta drive to fucking Richmond, Virginia tonight, so I can pretend to be the big dog environmental guru at a meeting at noon tomorrow. It's a fucking nine-hour drive from Chattanooga. The good news? Major fucking brownie points with the boss. The bad news? I'm on salary and will probably spend tonight, all of my Friday night, and part of my Saturday driving back and forth to Richmond for no additional money. However, I'm hoping that my bosses will redeem my brownie point coupons for a bigger bonus at the end of the year.
