Hi everybody. It's beautiful here but I really miss the snow sometimes. It is so nice to cozy up and bake things that smell good when the snow is falling.

But, I don't like freezing my ass off.

Well if you put some friggin' clothes on for once!

Me too, mojo.. I miss it right up until I remember having to go out and shovel the stuff, or chain up the car or pickup, or drive in the stuff, or... well, you know. That's why I love here rather than there.

Then again... Snow days, fireplaces, bear rugs, and warm cocoa. Yeah... just not the same in rainy, er, sunny California.

Yep....I know I live in Paradise and can't complain. I got to see the snow fall in the gardens at Versailles about a month ago - one of the most romantic and beautiful things I've ever seen.

Well, that has got to be a first. Imagine, you telling me to put clothes on. Fine, maybe I will and then never take them off again around here ...

That's what I thought.

And I seem to remember at one point you mentioning a bear rug as a positive thing about winter. Maybe I was wrong...

Snaps fingers and a beautiful white bear rug appears in front of the fireplace.

30 degrees outside. Eight inches and still coming. Oh, wait, that sounds wrong somehow.

Hey, I actually have a fireplace, oh shit, the firewood is all outside.

Dammit! I got some exercise shoveling a path to the garage. Damn the driveway and porches, I just wanted firewood.

Depending on where I stick the ruler, nine to twelve inches and still coming.

I need a drink. Something fruity with an umbrella. In Hawaii.

I thought your hunny was still OTR...

Just where *is* it you're sticking that ruler, AntiM? I thought the 8" thing was bad... this had me rolling!

Here ya go, hon... (The MOOP squad confiscated the umbrellas and pyrat saber olive skewers, damnit!)

If only you knew just how really doomed you are... were... and will be.

Hey!!! Look what our construction side just got in - this nice 36 mm diameter rebar. Cut to fit, rounded ends (for greater penetr... er... "safety") and more ridges than a bag of Ruffles......

On the day I was born, the nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder, at the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up, and she said leave this one alone
She could tell right away, that I was bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone

I broke a thousand hearts, before I met you
I'll break a thousand more baby, before I am through
I wanna be yours pretty baby, yours and yours alone
I'm here to tell ya honey, that I'm bad to the bone
Bad to the bone
B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-Bad
Bad to the bone

I make a rich woman beg, I'll make a good woman steal
I'll make an old woman blush, and make a young woman squeal
I wanna be yours pretty baby, yours and yours alone
I'm here to tell ya honey, that I'm bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad
B-B-B-B-Bad

Today was a good day. Thanks.

In other news, the grant for the other major art project from Michigan went in today. It is really well done. I'm worried. Plus they asked for way more than I did. Either they'll get it all or they'll give us each half of what we need.
It's going to be alright.

Ahhh.
Y'know, back in the day, all ya had to do was get in a Santa suit and give away shit and you were a celebrated theme camp. Guess the bar's been raised a bit. A friend of mine is convinced BC is a theme "camp". It certainly seems to draw people out, especially me!

Speaking of camps. I guess I should ask the assembled masses if anyone wants to organize a camp for the project. I'd be up for something relatively informal. The past two years have been very highly organized camps, which was great because we ate really well.

I should put him on to explain it, since he's a lot more articulate than me. But it goes something like this: I spend the whole week in costume and in character, and since I am, everything around me takes on a chicken spin. People make chicken noises, barnyard noises, tell chicken jokes, etc. It's incredibly participatory because kids, elders, farmers, slickers, gays, chicks, everybody can rap on a chicken theme. And believe me they do. So there's radical participation, expression and a theme.

All I know is I can't get away with the name without the suit on.

But don't tell Turkey that.
