Being of jewish heritage, which is no fault of my own, I ask you to refrain from proposing that Israel be, what you said "dismantled". Because I don't see how that could work without hurting people I love and care for. I happen to have great personal problems with what is happening today but you make it really hard to discuss, because you seem to be on the attack.

I compromise with AntiM for several reasons.

First off the last pic I posted was abrasive. I have worse pics than that from my friends that have still survived in Gaza right now.

These are people I have partied with here in San Fran and had a great time with.
AntiM has known me for many years now. She will be the first to tell you I am not a bad person. ( at least I think she would. )

2. AntiM is female and I already know how the females act about that specific pic she took down, so I accept that.

The other pics plain and simple are just not as bad and something needs to stay here to remind people of just what Israel is doing to other people and to themselves.

i'd like to see them stay but that's up to AntiM.

Ok man, look we've had some fun, we have discussed some politics, but really, right here at eplaya.burningman.org we are not gonna fix the problems of the world. I can't even express how bad I feel over the last couple weeks and what has happened to people. But there is only so much that I can shoulder responsiblity for.

My friends and I, lots of brother in my circle, used to sit around, smoke kools and talk about the war.. the war was nam. we realized that no matter how much we talked it made no differance in the end. but we talked.

The main thing I wish to believe in is that people can come to an understanding that works, that is real, that allows freedom for all.

Can we agree on that?

I did take down the other picture, but you can post links to them, as usual. I'm just looking for a little sanity and courtesy here, not something we can always find on eplaya. If we can't compromise here, how can w expect the world to come to peace?

Anyway, FYI, posts can only be edited by the author one hour after posting. After that, a moderator must do it. I only edit for specific reasons such as Not Work Safe pics... my definition of obscene isn't broad, but it does include dead people of any age and graphic bloodshed. Zombies and boobies are fine. I'll take down personal information, especially if it is about another person in RL. And commerce links if I don't outright delete. I'm sure there are other instances. Case by case basis, which is difficult, but in the long run fairer than a morass of rules. I want freedom of speech here, but I also want a forum which can be reliably browsed without a mental visual ambush. As long as that's what most of the eplayans want, we can work things out.

fact: Israel and the United States of America make the best weapons on the planet and it is Israel that has repeatedly violated the terms on which it receives billions in American weapons.

Kucinich: Israeli Violation of Congressional Arms Restrictions

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) argues that Israel cannot claim self-defense when fighting a weak enemy with no air force, navy or army. If Israel is not engaged in self-defense then it is engaged in an offensive. And Kucinich points out that the US gave Israel all those weapons only on condition that they not be used for aggression.
