True of course, but that seems to have helped set off a bout of introspection, that, among other things, took Rian down for the count. I enjoy banter and I enjoy flights of fancy. I grew up in a household that overemphasized the importance of Oscar Wilde and Lewis Carroll. This is a place where I can find some of those same sorts of values and experiences. I like that.
I'm trying to also contribute, but for me the community aspect of this board is much stronger than the community on playa. (My trips to the event are always much colored by low or high grade illness of me or my husband--and otherwise stressfull.) This board has in certain ways strengthened my commitment to teh event. Introvert that I am, I get overwhelmed by the stimulas on playa--having people to look for and hug and laugh with made a big difference in my abbreviated bm experience this year.

And to tell the truth, sometimes the "We must save Burning Man!" frustrates me because it seems to devalue my 3-times in the oughts burner experience. Am I what we are saving BM from?
