I've been doing a lot of graphic design lately, actually, making little buttons for podcasters (see www.cast-on.com to see the iKnit and iSpin buttons, I'm working on iWeave right now for another podcaster).. so, I can do avatars.
Any particular request, Bin?
And, who's gonna do BC, since he's taking care of the rest of you (cept Koosh, who takes care of herself..)

Yeah, I love umfriend as a term. I'll use it in RL conversation occasionally, and people will say "What's that?" My standard response is "Oh, hi, Mom! This is my, um...friend, Jim," which usually gets a big "Ohhhhhhhhh!" as the light goes on.Xta_G wrote:Koosh, nice profile! I like the "um-friend" and "not not-looking".. that's about where I am right now.

Anything purple is mine. Anything else can be dyed or painted.
I’m going to have to look at that again to be able to get "um-friend" and "not not-looking"..
I’m not really looking though I’ve been divorced since 2000,.. I’ve gotten to rather enjoy living alone though I do get lonely from time to time. I’ve gone kind of feral over these years and the state of my house looks it.

Good to meet new people. We all share energy.......Anyway, I kind of get it.Zulegoona wrote:I’m going to have to look at that again to be able to get "um-friend" and "not not-looking"..

OOh! <jump up from seat> I just realized I've been sitting on an envelope which contains the advance copy of the national magazine that is supposedly featuring an article about my hoops! I'll be lurking briefly while I page through it and find the article...
Zule - I've been in that state for many years.. then found an umfriend who didn't mind the mess :)

G'night, Bin... I've been enjoying the banter, too.. but I'll be up for a while yet, West Coast girl that I am.. gotta keep working on the dreads :)
Yeah, Zule, I totally understand.. I had that problem for a while, but the solution is to just pick someone who has ONE SINGLE THING that you couldn't possibly ever accept in a long term partner... and then enjoy them as an umfriend with everything else that is lovely and wonderful, but without the risk of falling!
Article was cool.. sadly not anywhere near the life-changing coverage that would help me solidly support myself with hooping, but quite decent enough for being something that found ME, rather than me seeking it out. I suck at self-promotion, but people find me anyways.. pretty cool, eh?

Just having a play with BC's introduction.... Thanks by the way...Zulegoona wrote:I think I tend to fall to easily to keep anything like an “ Um-friend “ as just that, though I wouldn’t mind giving it a go.
Ok your going to have to translate TITITWIWIMTBOOFBWNSK for me.
Nice new AV, Bin!
Z, i found after my divorce (been a little while now), it really helped to just meet new people. Nothing more, nothing less. No expectation, none given. It was nice. Found a lot of energy flowing........ Then who knows....

THAT is interesting. I find myself reminded of a girl I knew who was beautiful in every way but had a shrivelled arm birth defect. She told me she was very thankful for her arm. I may understand what she meant better now.Xta_G wrote:I had that problem for a while, but the solution is to just pick someone who has ONE SINGLE THING that you couldn't possibly ever accept in a long term partner... and then enjoy them as an umfriend with everything else that is lovely and wonderful, but without the risk of falling!

Wow. That's got to be one of the sweetest things anyone's said about me in a damn long time. Thanks, Bin. *smooch*
