DD, is that Sambuca? I think I tried it a year ago...took a swig from a lady friends flask at PhoenixFest, tastes alot like pine trees? It is an invigorating/magical drink...what would be the chances of bringing a bottle of that to the playa (we have a liquor store in town, but dont think that/don't know where to get it).

Oh, I'm sure we could find it. We've got resources, eh? And four states to look in (Wa, Or, Ca, Nv). Somebody somewhere has it and it's on someone's route to BMan.

Nice. It is such a distinct taste, although, I don't know if I could drink an entire glass...really strong "breathy" effect...like sugar...use sparingly! I'm off, got to do some cleaning up. Night DD, Xta. If anyone has time, tune in to the radioshow tomorrow night (6-8:15 PM, PST). Interview with Morello, Hard Rock band from Dublin, Ireland. They've played twice here before, and like a good passionate love making session, it gets better everytime :D Word. Happy Friday to all tomorrow...

Is Sambuca rare? Or just that particular brand? .. I remember being so stunned at seeing the beer for sale at a gas station in the States.. was shocking! We're so square up here, in some ways...

I'm guessing that I won't feel any particular need to drink on the playa.. and will be somewhat cautious of maintaining some sense of control of myself (loved the times way back when I did acid a few times, but always in situations and places where I was comfortable and familiar, and with sober/straight friends arranged to accompany me on my "trip"..) but having a ceremonial toast at The Bar will prob be do-able :)

What sort of Art are you doing, CC?

DD, that's why I love ya :) (P.S.--- PM me with a song request (No obscenities), and I'll do a shout out! Xta_G, I run the gambit on the art spectrum, with a strength/background in cartooning and illustration work. Goodnight...again

Y'know, I've done that stuff a few times but I'd usually go for a really long walk. Sometimes I'd go for a ride-something magical about bicycling at night in that state.

I have no idea how rare it is-have you ever been to Cali or Nevada at all?

I've been to Disneyland as a young child... and went to San Fran for a polo tourney at Stanford.. and had a freaky experience in SF when I turned the wrong way when I walked out of my hotel, found myself wandering in what is apparently the worst part of town, and then saw a) a man staggering down the street with blood running down his face, and b) <unrelated> two guys sprinting away from a store they just robbed.... Freakier than anything I've seen in the worst parts of Vancouver...

I'm pretty sure that I could walk into any liquor store in Vancouver and they'd have at least one type of Sambuca... the range of stuff they carry is pretty huge...

CC - you just keep trying to leave :) My roomie does the visual art thing, http://www.philipstephen.com if you wanna see.. I do more of the fine craft thing, http://www.christagiles.com for pics of my glass work :)

Didn't love shrooms.. but then, I was looking for an acid-esque experience, so mebbe I didn't give them the full chance. Pot makes me paranoid, E was mostly fun other than the one that made me nauseous... but its been.. oh... at least five or six years since I've bothered to do any of that, I manage to have enough fun on my own, and find magic in things easily enough :)

Hi yourself!!

Shrooms are great on the playa with the right people while your on them... However, the next day, when you have to spend 20 minutes in the JOTS dealing with the inevitable digestive issues that occur when one consumes them, completely BLOWS!

Not that I'd know anything about that...

When I was younger and we would take them we always had one friend that would toss his cookies and then spend the rest of the night pretending he was on the same astral plane we were it was always good for a laugh...

I definitely preferred LSD. I liked the spiritual aspects of mushrooms, but I could do just about anything while dosing-one time I walked the 6 miles to my work then spent 8 hours cleaning-it was hella fun cuz the place was closed and had an 800 watt sound system (club).

Best trip: dropping a tab at home, enjoying the texture of regular food (sour cream! Roma tomatoes! Raw mushrooms!).. and then spotting a giant wasp on my windowshades, then having the mental conversation "that is not a giant wasp. I am on acid. That is a hallucination." "No it isn't" "am I sure?" "Yes, that is a real giant wasp".. and then dousing the poor thing with hair mousse, giggling hysterically. An hour later, my friends came to pick me up so I could have a supervised swim in their apartment pool.. and I would SWEAR I had a mermaid-style tail! And could hold my breath and swim underwater for minutes! (none of which was true, of course, but it felt damn neat...)

Anyway.. enough drug stories for the evening, I'm off to bed.. killer tired today, guess finishing (almost!) the dreads took it out of me :)

G'night, folks! Be well, sweet dreams..
