I haven't retained much german, but I have retained a capitalization algorithm that has a lot of bauhaus in it.Deb Prothero wrote:I think Crypto was wondering if she had done this intentionally so left the capitalization in place.

I love the dance floor, wonder why we waited so long to get one. The dark mahogany leather booth is nice as well. Roller skates, cigarette girl on roller skates, maybe some fake car booths and carhops on roller skates. wheeeee! Deb, I think you'll find roller skates much easier than ice skates. Since they don't tax you ankles to stay level, you should have no problems in making the transition.
Ray Davies wrote about the dance clubs once.Deb Prothero wrote:Thank you, magicmarty. I love ballroom dancing. It's great exercise and reminds me of a good time in my youth. I was raised in a village on the north shore of Lake Erie where the largest dance floor in North America was at the Stork Club. I danced to Guy Lombardo, Duke Ellington, Harry James and Tommy Dorsey among others. It was like I was able to snatch a piece of magic from the 40s but it happened at the end of the 70s. It was magical!

forget the fake carhops on rollerskates... get the real thing.
Well got acall from my kids and they wanted me to go down there and play games again today. I spent the day there yesterday. So after having died a thousand deaths in modern warfare, and after being repeatedly run over by Mario, I am back.

Gyre; that was a wonderful video. I'd forgotten that song and had never seen the video that went with it. The dance clubs were a phenomenon for sure and I feel privileged to have experienced one of the best.
Time for coffee now. How is everyone this morning? How are your wrists, Box Burner? Kids really are the best part of Christmas, aren't they?

thanks Deb. I'm always there with a "half-measure".........Deb Prothero wrote:This bar is always warm with the regular contributors like you, ygmir. No need for firefighters. The eye candy is nice once in a long while but the real warmth comes from your daily fire, coffee and wit.

A non-burner friend (another survivor of suicide) sent this to me today and I thought I'd share it here:
May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

The very fact of your existence indicates that you have a purpose.~Dr. Wayne Dyer
It seemed appropriate at this time of year and the way I was feeling - straining for the positive, right now and gathering wisdom from wherever it may come. Like Risky always says "Only pay attention to what you want."
A better version.Deb Prothero wrote:Gyre; that was a wonderful video. I'd forgotten that song and had never seen the video that went with it. The dance clubs were a phenomenon for sure and I feel privileged to have experienced one of the best.
